Sad news as another sweepstakes casino seems to have bitten the dust in the form of LuckyBird.io.
It’s not entirely surprising, as on December 10 we reported a notice that LuckyBird sent to its users, and it was certainly unusual at the time.
The message warned that “an extended system maintenance period” could prevent the casino from “guaranteeing the security of any unredeemed SC balances.”
We’d never seen a warning like this before, so we strongly advised players to redeem any remaining Sweepstakes Cash (SC) immediately.
Now, reports from players suggest they can no longer log in, and visiting the LuckyBird.io URL shows nothing at all. It seems the domain is either offline, or no longer exists.
We’ve also heard that issues like this have cropped up in the past, so we have to guess that the site is likely gone for good at this point. It’s a shame, because it had a lot going for it.
Launched in 2022 with an emphasis on crypto payments, LuckyBird had some excellent slots, table games, live dealers, and instant games, including an Originals lineup, which generally means the operator was serious about investing in high-quality content for the platform.
On the other hand, we must say it would have been much fairer on players to make a proper closure announcement in December if the operators knew said closure was imminent – we’d hate to think any players lost currency on the site because of this sneaky exit.
Fortunately, the operating company (Lucky Bird) doesn’t maintain any other casinos, so we don’t have to worry about any other poorly-handled or sudden closures.
