Duck Hunters is a scatter pays video slot developed by Nolimit City. It debuted in early 2025 and is one of the most feature-packed games I’ve tested recently.

The ultra-high top win of 30,000x, three Free Spins variants, and eight Buy Bonus options set Duck Hunters apart from your average tumbler slot. While these features look impressive on paper, they’re even better in action because you can flexibly mix purchasable spins and boosts with the occasional Extra Spin for potentially sky-high wins.

The RTP of Duck Hunters sits at 96.05%, just a bit above the industry’s average. The grid layout features 6 reels and 5 rows, while the betting range includes 25 different options between 0.20 and 100.

One of the core features of Duck Hunters is Win Multipliers, which apply to all cells where winning combos were made before each tumble. The same feature is present in Pragmatic Play’s Sugar Rush, but the scatter wins mechanic gives it a new angle in this Nolimit City release.

About Duck Hunters: Game Overview

When I saw the showcase video, I initially thought Duck Hunters was a modern reiteration of the old NES shooter Duck Hunt with the famous laughing dog. Launching the game for the first time, I realized this slot game actually revolves around the Duck Dynasty show. The Robertson family members are even directly featured as major symbols.

That’s a major thematic twist, especially since the game has elements like booze, ducks with shotguns and cowboy hats, and modded crossbows. That is stuff you won’t find in any other slot, especially not in the duck-hunting genre.

As a scatter-pays slot, Duck Hunters pays out whenever the player lands at least 8 symbols of the same suit on the table. Wins trigger a cascade and leave a cell multiplier of x2 across all positions of the winning chain. Whenever you land a win on spots with multipliers, the original value is doubled and can reach x8,192.

The Free Spins round is where the “hunting” takes place. Depending on how many Scatters you collect, you’ll get to trigger the Duck Hunt (3 Scatters), Hawk Eye (4 Scatters), or Big Game (5 Scatters) variant.

The background music is decent, but I expected a proper country-style track. The one we got is upbeat, light, and easy to listen to, but it doesn’t add much to the game’s immersion. The bit I loved the most was the gunshot audio that follows multiplier hits.

Duck Hunters Slot Information

There are 6 reels and 5 rows in Duck Hunters, which can be populated by 9 paying symbols, Wilds, xWays symbols, Infectious xWays symbols, bombs, and scatters. You’ll need at least 8-of-a-kind to trigger a win, and all the non-paying symbols (except FS symbols) are there to help you.

For starters, launch the game and tap the Coin button to select your wager size. You’ll have 25 options to choose from between 0.20 and 100. Note that the window will close automatically once you’ve made a selection.

The most important features are located on the right side. The white “Lightning” symbol makes the reels spin faster; the “Play” symbol stands for “Autoplay” with customizable settings (10-1,000 rounds, “Stop” when single win exceeds the limit, etc.), while the rotating arrow is the “Spin” button. The Yellow Lightning symbol opens the Feature Spins menu, which we’ll talk about in a second.

The payout rates for individual symbols align with the average scatter-paying slot, with the lowest win being 0.10x for 8-9 minor symbol chains, and the highest win being 5x for 12 or more major symbol wins.

200 Spins Test of Duck Hunters

I’ve taken Duck Hunters for a 200-spin test with 10,000 coins as my starting bankroll and 1 coin as my starting wager size.

The first 20 spins were fairly uneventful, but I got half of my wagers back. Now sitting at 9,991.50 coins, I bumped my wager size to 5. On my 30th spin, I hit my first solid win of 64 coins and got ahead by 16 coins.

Luck wasn’t by my side when I got to the 50th spin, as my balance dropped to 9,915. I increased the wager to 10 coins and resumed playing.

By the time I got to the 100th spin, I hit half a dozen bombs, saw plenty of xWays symbols, and drew a few scatters, but I lost more than I won. Now with 9,585.25 in balance, I decided to buy the lowest-tier bonus for 700 coins, hoping it would help me at least break even.

I got decently lucky with the multipliers, but I ultimately won just 494 coins, which was less than I paid for.

I rolled my wager back to 5 coins and tried using the Lucky Draw bonus for 1,175 coins. I got the classic Duck Hunt Spins with 7 Free Spins and Infectious xWays as the upgrade. Despite some cool multipliers sitting on the table, I won only 138.50 coins.

I was back to wagering 10 coins per spin again and quickly dropped to 8,780.50 coins by the time I got to my 150th spin. For the last 50 spins, I used the Day 2 Spins feature, which meant that I was paying 28 coins per round for a table filled with 2x multipliers. Shortly after, I got another bonus with 7 Free Spins and an Extra 2 Shots as the upgraded feature, where I won 232 coins.

I got to my 180th spin with 8,657 coins and decided this would be where my “regular” test ends. For the remaining 20 spins, I tried using the Day 64 Spins high-roller feature, where each pop costs 900 coins (on a 10-coin wager).

I dropped to 5,500 coins and got pretty lucky. Not only did I win 3,936 coins from the base game, but I also managed to land 3 scatters where the starting field was filled with 3-digit multipliers.

That one lucky spin brought me 9,824 coins, which was close to my starting balance. I finished the run with 15,324 coins in my virtual pocket.
