How LoneStar Social Casino Works

Like every other social casino that offers sweepstakes prizes, players can play here for free. LoneStar provides two virtual currencies, one of which (Sweeps Coins) can be redeemed for cash with one SC unit equalling $1.

Gold Coins don’t have monetary value, but you can buy them bundled with Sweeps Coins if you want to get the promotional currency immediately. Otherwise, LoneStar provides both GCs and SCs for free via bonuses and promotions.

LoneStar has a good variety of ways to get extra coins, either for free, or by doing a bit of work. It’s not the most generous casino around, but it’s also not the most stingy.

• LoneStar gives players a daily login bonus of 5,000 Gold Coins and 0.3 Sweeps Coins every 24 hours.
• The AMOE bonus is a bit disappointing. 1 SC per properly submitted envelope through the mail-in option, with no stated cap on how many you can send.
• The referral program offers up to 200,000 GC and 70 SC if your friend spends $500+.
• Email promotions occasionally include limited-time deals, such as the 350,000 GC + 50 SC bundle for $25 during Flag Day.
• The VIP program has seven tiers and offers increasing benefits like birthday gifts, expedited redemptions, exclusive games, weekly bonuses, and personal hosts.

• Tournaments are available during certain periods too. For example, during the testing for my LoneStar review I came across a leaderboard race called ‘Captain’s Bounty’. This tournament had three eligible slots, and the players with the biggest wins during play time would rank highest on the board, winning their share of a 300 SC prize pot.
• Lastly, LoneStar runs additional challenges and promos through its Facebook and X pages, where it engages directly with players.

As a newer social casino, LoneStar doesn’t skimp on content. It features 625+ games that can trigger huge payouts. That’s a bold move for a free-play platform, and to me, it signals that the brand is here to stay.

The provider lineup includes smaller names like Kalamba, 4ThePlayer, and Red Rake Gaming alongside giants like Nolimit City, Big Time Gaming, and Relax Gaming. There are some studios like M2Play (Microgaming) that you don’t always see in this space, and you’ll even find exclusive titles from Spinnochio.

The result is a collection that feels more premium than most newer sweepstakes casinos. Even without live dealer games (which have been removed), LoneStar still offers good variety. It now features 10 virtual table games, plus instant win and scratchcards, giving players options beyond just slots.

The website has plenty of categories so you can segment games by style or gameplay mechanics. For example, you can narrow down all the Hold & Win jackpot slots by selecting ‘HOLD & WIN’ in the menu. However, some of the categories get repetitive and aren’t properly populated. For example, if you click ‘TABLE GAMES’, you won’t get all the table games on offer – you should click ‘TOP TABLES’ instead.

I took a broad sampling of slots to get a sense of the Return to Player (RTP) value and found it variable, but within the standard limits. Unlike some sweepstakes casinos that choose to offer only low-range or mid-range RTP, LoneStar Casino is liberal in that regard, as you can see from the following games:

• Fire in the Hole (Nolimit City) RTP: 94.08%
• Wedding Party (King Show Games) RTP: 96.02%
• Heimdall’s Gate (Kalamba Games) RTP: 96.48%

Even though you’ll be playing with free coins, LoneStar has a lot of variance when it comes to minimum wagers. For example, Adrenaline Rush: Scratch allows a minimum wager of 10 GC/1 SC, but Blazing Bison: Gold Blitz requires a minimum of 200 GC/0.2 SC. Still this variance by game is standard for a sweeps casino.

Then there are exclusive games like Double Joker Hold & Win containing four jackpots and therefore costing 1,000 GC or 1 SC per play.

Should you want to purchase coins or redeem your Sweeps Coin prizes, you can do that via a few standard payment methods: debit/credit cards, online bank transfer and Skrill. LoneStar also recently added gift cards as a redemption method.

The lowest number of available Sweeps Coins in your bankroll needs to be 100 if you want to request a cash redemption. If any part of this amount is in bonus SCs, it’ll need to be wagered one time to be cleared for the taking. If you’re going for a gift card, you can redeem with as little as 45 SC.

Otherwise, the process is pretty much standard. On my first redemption I had to submit a few documents in order to verify my identity and state of residence. Thereafter, you can just request your prize and go with it via bank or Skrill.

Payment Options Review

The coin store begins in the shape of a plus button, smack-dab in the top middle of the site. You can also navigate through the hamburger menu and still get the window with all the optional purchases.

Like other platforms in its league, LoneStar Casino sets a daily cap on redemptions, which is $10,000. The only state where the maximum is half that amount is Florida.

Otherwise, there is no cap on how much you can win with free coins from LoneStar bonuses and promos.

Is LoneStar Casino Legit?

To sweepstakes casino pros, RealPlay Tech is synonymous with a free casino gaming site that serves the whole experience to the T. But LoneStar is a separate brand, and SweepsKings is looking at each site independently. Thankfully, I didn’t find any sketchy parts worthy of a red flag.

All of the game providers are licensed. They are either stand-alone companies with independently tested games or are part of a larger body that cooperates in the making of online casino games, gameplay mechanics, bonuses, and the like.

If you are a new player, you’ll be met with the LoneStar no deposit bonus and a KYC process that doesn’t just let you in. To go through the gates, you’ll need to prove that you are 18 or older and a resident of a state that isn’t restricted.

Live chat, or rather a personal host, is available but only for LoneStar VIP players. Hopefully every player gets the same treatment on that front down the line. Another minor detail that I should expect will be ironed out soon is the flimsy FAQ page.

If you are not keen on emailing the help desk, you can submit a ticket through the said FAQ page or reach out to LoneStar’s agents directly through social media. Replies came faster through the last route in my case, versus the standard email.

LoneStar Casino UX

I have to be honest. I didn’t enjoy the user interface at LoneStar. It’s very similar to the one at RealPrize, and by this point both are starting to feel basic and outdated.

It is great that there are many categories when searching for games. You can narrow down (or expand) game styles by selecting one of the many tabs at the top of the page, but the sections are not always populated correctly. The search bar works, but the results sometimes extend off-screen.

Also, if you click ‘Promotions’ from the sidebar, you might expect a list of all the bonuses available in one handy page, but you’ll just get links to the referral bonus option and to the Facebook page. It’s not very inspiring, and it’s details like this which give you the impression you’re not playing at a truly premium site.

The desktop version is similar to the mobile site. Like most sweepstakes casinos, LoneStar Casino doesn’t have a native app, but the mobile version of the platform will work fine on your smartphone through the browser.

Speaking of apps, there is an app called ‘Lonestar’ available on the Google Play store, and it cheekily uses a very similar logo to LoneStar casino, but it’s a different thing entirely, so be warned.

I think that I emphasized the fact that the casino at hand has a sister casino in RealPrize, which is well-established among the players and has a huge following on social media, with the bonuses to go with it. Nevertheless, LoneStar is comparable to at least five other fresh sweeps casinos that emerged in the same period.

How It Stacks Up

LoneStar has potential but right now it sits somewhere in the middle of the field when viewed within the sweeps format as a whole. It does most things well, and games is the main field it excels in. Luckily, for many, this is the most important aspect of a sweeps platform.

However, if we’re comparing to similarly new casinos, in the bonuses department LoneStar loses out to the likes of Rolla. In terms of UI it doesn’t match up to the likes of Shuffle.us. Not having live chat feels like a missed opportunity, especially when the FAQ pages are not fully fleshed out. SpinQuest is a great example of support being done better.

Each aspect of the player experience here could be improved, but it’s a perfectly fine place to play as long as you don’t expect all the bells and whistles of some other competitors.

Sweepstakes casinos need to do everything they can to stand out in a crowded market these days. Since launching, LoneStar has created a solid foundation for itself, and there’s a good experience to be had here, but I hope it keeps improving over the coming months and years.

It’s great that we have access to slots and other games from providers like Relax, Nolimit City, and BTG, but I hope that the number of titles provided by such studios will increase and eventually include live casino games. It does give me hope for the future when I see Spinnochio provide exclusive games on this platform.

Bonuses and payments options at LoneStar are fine. The UI feels a little outdated, and the coin bundles are limited.

If you’re looking for a new place to play, LoneStar will do the trick for most players, and let’s hope the platform continues to expand and grow.
