Sweeps Casinos Begin Exiting Indiana Ahead of Anticipated Ban

SweepsKings is beginning to receive news of sweepstakes operators withdrawing from Indiana, as anti-sweeps bill HB 1052 awaits a signature – or veto – from Governor Mike Braun (pictured).

So far, we’ve heard about the Pulsz brands (Pulsz and Pulsz Bingo) and B-Two brands (McLuck, Hello Millions, SpinBlitz, PlayFame) withdrawing from the Hoosier State – some of the biggest sweepstakes names in the space. And in the past, these particular companies making a preemptive move has been a reliable indicator that an anti-sweeps bill will make it into law.

Last week we reported on HB 1052 passing the Indiana legislature. It’s a wide-ranging bill covering several issues, but the most noteworthy part for sweeps operators and players is how it would outlaw casinos with a “dual-currency or multi-currency system of payment”, with fines of up to $100,000.

At this stage, it appears HB 1052 is still awaiting presentation to Governor Braun, with companies acting in anticipation of a likely law rather than responding to concrete confirmation.

But once the bill is presented to the governor, he has seven days to sign it into law, veto it, or take no action. If he does nothing within that period, the bill automatically becomes law on the eighth day.

Traditionally, Indiana has not been much of a hostile state for sweepstakes casinos, but that could change soon, potentially triggering an exodus by the hundreds of operators with a presence in the state.

The bill’s effective date is July 1, 2026 according to its wording, meaning that some operators may stay up until this point, while others will withdraw as soon as they are certain the bill is coming into effect at any point in the future.

Members at sweeps casinos are always informed in due course, so Indiana players should look out for emails advising timelines and next steps from brands.

To sum up, with exits from the Pulsz and the B-Two casinos already underway, it seems that IN is set to become the first state to sign off on an anti-sweeps bill in 2026.
