First appearing in Hacksaw Gaming’s Le Bandit on August 24, 2023, the French raccoon Smokey has popped up in 10+ games. After being a bandit, he became a pharaoh in Le Pharaoh. After that, he joined in on Viking raids in Le Viking. And seemingly every couple of months, he’s off to a new adventure.
However, while funny as he is, Smokey’s not the only reason that the Hacksaw Le slots have become so popular. As with high RTP virtually guaranteed, and new bonus features and mechanics getting introduced with every new game, the ‘Le’ series has developed a reputation for consistently producing high-quality slots. Of course though, with so many great games, many wonder which is the best Hacksaw Le slot?
Well in this guide, we’re going to be looking at RTP, volatility, bonus features, game mechanics, and max win, and assigning a winner for each category so that you can make your own decision based on the criteria that you deem important. And at the end, we’ll show you which games the SweepsKings prefer.

Sweepstakes casinos are available in 30+ states across the US. And while Hacksaw Gaming titles aren’t available in all of them, we tasked our team with coming up with a confirmed list of sweepstakes sites where you can play the ‘Le’ series of slots, which you can check out above.
One thing to keep in mind though, is that Hacksaw Gaming does restrict play of their titles if you live in certain states. And so if you live in Virginia, Illinois, or any of their other restricted states, you won’t be able to play the Le slots or any other games produced by Hacksaw.

Quick Comparison: Which Le Slot Is Best for Each Player Type?
We’ve written reviews on many of the Le slots. And for in-depth analysis of how they work, as well as free play via our demo, we recommend you check out our dedicated reviews of each of the Le slots.
However, in this section, we’ll be giving you a rundown of the main differences between the Hacksaw Gaming Le slots, as well as what type of player we’d recommend for each game.
Le Bandit Slot Review

Le Bandit was the first of the Le slots by Hacksaw Gaming. Taking place in the mean streets of Paris, this game introduced Smokey as well as a lot of the features that would come to be associated with the franchise. The 10,000x max win may be a little low compared to other games. However, frequent rainbow symbols, as well as the combinations of a 96.34% RTP and medium volatility, mean that you never have to wait too long for a decent win.
Ultimately, I’d say Le Bandit is the best entry point. And if you’re new to the Le series, I’d 100% recommend checking out our Le Bandit review to get familiar with the key mechanics and try out a couple of spins yourself.
Le Pharaoh Slot Review

As soon as the ancient Egyptian-themed Le Pharaoh came out, the Le Bandit vs Le Pharaoh discussions began. Because while there are similar mechanics, Le Pharaoh introduced a new bonus, implemented paylines, and brought in a cool respins feature that activates on all wins.
RTP in this one was bumped up a fraction to 96.35%, as was the max win up to 15,000x — although medium volatility was kept the same. With a choice of bonus games, Le Pharaoh is regarded as one of the best titles for players who want variety in bonuses and high RTP. If that’s you, definitely check out our Le Pharaoh review.
Le Viking Slot Review

Le Viking is the highest volatility Le slot. It’s very difficult to get decent-sized wins in the base game — and instead, you’ll need to reach the respins bonus to have a chance of a good win. The bonus buy feature is available in this slot. However, Le Viking introduced a special bonus feature in Journey to Valhalla that could not be bought.
The Viking-themed Le slot drops RTP down to 96.32%, increases volatility to medium-high, and reintroduces a 10,000x max win. And as you can read in our Le Viking review, this slot is definitely best for players who don’t mind paying or grinding to enter the bonus.
Le King Slot Review

Le King is very similar to Le Bandit on the surface. Though while cluster payouts, a similar bonus game, and a similar medium volatility will make it feel similar, Le King brings with it a change of theme with an old-school Las Vegas Elvis-esque theme, a 20,000x max win, and fixed jackpots.
The big downside is the 96.14% RTP. However, if you like the idea of hunting for jackpots, you should definitely check out our Le King review.
Le Zeus Slot Review

Le Zeus is a medium-high volatility slot that sees Smokey impersonating Zeus. The big difference in this game is the inclusion of mystery symbols and the bonus features that it introduces. And as you can check out in our Le Zeus review, there are a lot of interesting intricacies about the way the bonuses work in this one.
Stats-wise, Le Zeus has 96.26% RTP and a 20,000x max win. Given its propensity to mainly award big wins in the bonus, I’d recommend Le Zeus to high rollers who are willing to use the bonus buy options, or players who are patient enough to grind the base game.
Le Cowboy Slot Review

In the base game, Le Cowboy uses similar mechanics to Le Bandit. Although in this cowboy-themed slot, instant wins are tied to wilds, and with just a couple of wilds, you can score decent wins in the base game. However, that’s not to say the bonus isn’t important. Because as you check out in our Le Cowboy review, there are three exciting levels to its bonus game, as well as a unique gambling minigame.
25,000x is the max win. This partners fantastically with a 0.05 min bet — making it perfect for players on a tight budget who still want to take a shot at winning big.
Le Santa Slot Review

As you can read about in our Le Santa review, this Le slot is a reskin of Le King. That means you can expect the same mechanics and bonuses, just with a Christmas aesthetic. RTP is 96.14%, max win is 20,000x, and volatility is medium — meaning that if you’re deciding between Le Santa and Le King, it’s really just a matter of whether you want Smokey to be dressed up as Elvis or Santa.
Le Rapper Slot Review

Le Rapper is an exclusive Le slot game for the Stake brand. Though keep in mind that while this one does see Smokey take on the role of a rapper, it is essentially another reskin — this time of the original Le Bandit. This means medium volatility, 96.34% RTP, a 10,000x max win, and all the gameplay of Le Bandit.
Stake.us is a fantastic sweepstakes casino — so if you’ve signed up for it, you may as well give it a shot. But with that being said, Le Rapper isn’t something I’d go out of the way to play.
Le Beef Slot Review

Le Beef is a reskin of Le Bandit for Beef casino. In complete honesty, I don’t know anything about this casino, and had never even heard of Le Beef prior to researching this guide. However, I played it on a demo site, and to be blunt, it is a very lazy reskin of Le Bandit with a slightly different color scheme.
Le Fisherman Slot Review

Le Fisherman is the only current Le game with low-medium volatility. But don’t let that fool you into thinking that there are fewer bonus features — because Le Fisherman introduces a wide range of exciting new bonus features that make it one of the best Le slots for bonus lovers. And with a 96.33% RTP, it’s got one of the highest RTP scores of all non-reskinned Hacksaw Le slots.
The only minor downside is the slightly lower-than-average 15,000x max win.
Le Bunny Slot Review

Le Bunny is yet another reskin of Le King. Same 96.14% RTP, same 20,000x max, same medium volatility, and same gameplay and bonus mechanics. Personally, I actually think the image of the grumpy Smokey in a poorly fitting Easter Bunny outfit is kind of funny. However, like Le Santa, this is just a festive reskin.
Upcoming Le Games
On the horizon, we have two new Le slots by Hacksaw Gaming coming: Le Digger and Le Football Fan. We know pretty much nothing about these two. Although with an expected release of mid-June for Le Football Fan, I think a World Cup theme is a safe bet, and we may just see Smokey turn into his inner hooligan.

Key Differences Between the Le Series
Unlike a lot of slot franchises, the Le slots are usually pretty different from one another. Of course, some are just reskins. But these reskins are in the minority. And when you look at the fresh games, while they may borrow an idea here or there, they’re all pretty different in how they play. Some have paylines, others use payways, and others still use cluster payouts.
Similarly, while bonuses are important in all Le slots — how they tend to play is wildly different between titles. Some games have a hold & win kind of bonus, others go for more traditional free spins.
Though even if you pick two Le slots that both offer traditional free spins like Le Bandit and Le Fisherman, the actual intricacies in how these bonuses play still make them feel distinct.
What Makes a Slot Part of the ‘Le’ Series
With so many differences, the only thing that really makes a Le slot a Le slot is both the name, and Smokey. There are some Hacksaw Gaming titles that play similarly — like Ze Zeus and Zeus Ze Zecond (similar to Le Bandit and Le Zeus in particular). But to fit in the Le series, you need two things. One is of course to have Le in the title, and the second is to have a cranky French-speaking raccoon in a disguise as your mascot.
Do We Really Need More ‘Le’ Slots?
When people see Smokey pop up in multiple games, they often wonder, how many Le slots are there? Then when they find out there are 10+ Le slots with more on the way, they ask ‘Why?’. And the reason is, it’s a trustworthy game. They feel unique, they offer good RTP — and even for casual players who may not be familiar with Hacksaw Gaming, when they see a Le slot, they know it will be good.
Of course, it’s impossible to deny there have been a couple of reskins lately. And if new Le slots are just going to be reskins of old Le slots, I think it would be better to create a new game and franchise altogether. However, if Hacksaw Gaming can keep the creative juices flowing, and so long as they don’t stop creating original games altogether, I see no reason why the Le slots shouldn’t continue.
Which ‘Le’ Slot Should You Play?
The Le slots are all great games. And you should definitely try them all. But to avoid giving a cop-out answer, I polled the entire SweepsKings team to get their say on what they thought the best Hacksaw Le slot is.
Best for newcomers is an easy one — Le Bandit all the way. For best bonuses, Le Viking and Le Zeus were popular picks — though Le Fisherman edged them both out. For big wins, it was neck and neck between Le Cowboy and Le King (as well as the Le King reskins).
Meanwhile, for overall best Hacksaw Le slot, my pick of Le Cowboy didn’t even make the top three. And instead, coming in at third was Le Viking. Second place went to the original Le Bandit. And for first place, edging out all others in RTP as well as popularity, was Le Pharaoh.
Though to cap it off, does this mean Le Pharaoh is the only one worth playing? No. And on a personal level, Le Pharaoh didn’t even make my top three. But that’s what makes the ‘Le’ slots so good — they’re all a bit different, and they’re all worth playing to see which ones you click with. My recommendation is to try the ones we have available on our site. Then, when you’ve got your own top three, head on over to a sweepstakes casino that stocks the Le slots that you like, and see what Smokey has in store for you.
