About Fishing Club: Game Overview

The gameplay in Fishing Club is extremely simple and intuitive. When you press the spin button, you “throw your hook” into the lake. If you catch a fish, you win a payout, which depends on the type of fish and the multiplier. If you don’t catch anything, your wager is lost.

The game features five hooks, ranging from the smallest (lowest risk) to the biggest (highest risk). Higher-risk hooks increase your chances of catching a big fish but also raise the minimum bet. Even with the largest hook, though, there’s no guarantee of a catch, so it’s up to you to decide whether you want to increase your wager to play with the bigger hooks.

The theme is, obviously, fishing, and it feels very calming and relaxing. You’re set at a lake, and the entire background feels like it was lifted straight from a Bob Ross painting, complete with lush mountains and calm blue waters.

Following Fishing Club’s success, BGaming launched a sequel called Winter Fishing Club in 2025, which maintains largely the same gameplay but is set in an icy setting.

The background music is calm and relaxing, and so are the FX sounds of the hook throw, splashing water, and even the fisherman celebrating when they catch a fish.

Fishing Club’s RTP of 97.16% is above average, and the game’s volatility is low to medium, though it doesn’t feel like it, especially when fishing with the smaller baits. The betting range from 0.20 to 75 is very wide, though, and the maximum win is a generous 3,000x your bet (up to 240,000).

Fishing Club Game Information

Fishing Club is unlike any other casino-style game out there. It’s not a standard slot game, and it’s not a fish-shooter arcade either. Instead, it’s a POV-style fishing simulator where you take on the role of the fisherman. Each throw of the hook is one wager, and the payout depends on whether you manage to catch a fish and the type of fish.

Importantly, there’s no skill involved, and the game is entirely luck-based. While in fish shooter games, you get to aim at the fish you want to take down, here, you just press the Spin button and hope for the best. There are no reels, rows, or paylines like you’d expect in a traditional slot either. The gameplay revolves around risk levels and fish multipliers.

You select one of five hooks, with each one representing a different risk level. Smaller hooks are safer with lower minimum bets, while bigger hooks have higher minimum and maximum bets, but they also give you a better chance of catching something. Once you choose your hook and throw it into the water, you either catch a fish (and win) or return empty-handed (and lose your wager).

There are exactly 13 different fish types you can catch, and each one has a different payout multiplier range. The biggest fish are the ones with the highest multiplier. These are the different fish and their potential multipliers:

• Blue Marlin – >100x

As you can see, the Pink Snapper might not even get you your wager back, but the Blue Marlin is the ‘boss’ fish in the game, with a multiplier of >100x the wager, so the only way to hit the max 3,000x win in Fishing Club is by catching a Blue Marlin with the largest possible multiplier.

30-Minute Test of Fishing Club

I started my Fishing Club test with 1,000 coins. The risk level was set on level 3, so I decided to try it in default mode with a wager size of 2.40 coins. A few throws in, and I immediately noticed that the pace is very, very slow. Maybe it’s because I’m used to faster-paced games, but in normal mode, the pace is slower than any casino-style game I’ve tried. So, I immediately switched to Quick Spin mode (click on the Autoplay and toggle Quick Spin).

A few minutes in, and I had caught a few Pink Snappers and a Striped Bass, but my bankroll was hardly moving on any side. After 10 minutes, I decided to try it with a higher wager size, and with 970 coins remaining, I turned the wager size to 30. The change was noticeable immediately. I’d say that I won something about 1 in 10 times, so the volatility definitely feels higher. If I didn’t know the game was medium-low volatility, I would say that it’s actually very high.

After a streak of bad luck and 25 throws with no wins, I lost all my bankroll. Time for a change.

I started a new session with 1,000 coins in my bankroll, but this time I set the risk level to 5 and wager size to 25 coins, and wow! The game now felt completely different with the larger bait! I would catch fish much more frequently, and although many of them were Pink Snappers that barely cover the wager, at least the game felt active.

Finally, a big catch! I caught a Golden Beam and won 705 coins, so now I had 1,446 coins. I kept playing for 20 more minutes, and my bankroll dropped to 800 coins, but I then won a medium win of around 400-500 coins to bounce back up, so I thought I would end this test on that note.

But in one of my last throws, I caught a Red Snapper with a multiplier of 58.4x the bet, which meant a massive win of 1,460 coins. So, I concluded my test with 2,186 coins, or 1,186 coins in profit (in my second attempt after losing the first 1,000). The net total was +186 coins.
