Players who bought coins at Pulsz or Pulsz Bingo may be eligible to get cash or free Gold Coins back as part of a new $14 million class action settlement.
The lawsuit claims that parent company Yellow Social Interactive (YSI) broke state gambling laws in the US by selling virtual coins on its sweepstakes casino and bingo site. While YSI denies any wrongdoing, it has agreed to settle the case.
Both sites use Gold Coins (GC) and Sweeps Coins (SC) within the dual-currency sweeps model, and if you previously bought coin bundles from Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, New Jersey, or Massachusetts, you may qualify for a cash check or Gold Coins. However, you must act before the November 30, 2026 deadline for the cash option.
How the $14M Multi-State Lawsuit Came Together
The $14 million settlement didn’t start as a single nationwide lawsuit. Instead, it grew out of a series of state lawsuits led by Alabama class action law firms Davis & Norris, LLP and Bedford, Rogers & Bowling, P.C.
The attorneys filed individual lawsuits in:
They used local gambling loss recovery laws to allege that virtual coin sales on Pulsz and Pulsz Bingo along with the games available constituted illegal gambling.
YSI then ultimately agreed to combine the individual state claims into a single consolidated master lawsuit in Alabama, and as part of the deal, class action lawyers expanded the complaint to bring in residents from Ohio, New Jersey, and Massachusetts.
YSI has denied any wrongdoing from the start, and no ruling has been made judging it to have acted illegally, but a $14M settlement has been agreed as the best solution for both parties going forward.
Who’s Eligible in this Class Action?
A helpful website has been set up by the Alabama court overseeing this case: www.ysisettlement.com.
There you can find case details and FAQs, and it says players who bought coin bundles in the following states and during the following time frames will be eligible for a payout:
- Alabama: March 8, 2022 – August 31, 2026
- Tennessee: November 12, 2022 – August 31, 2026
- Kentucky: June 29, 2023 – August 31, 2026
- Massachusetts: February 19, 2024 – August 31, 2026
- New Jersey: February 19, 2024 – August 31, 2026
- Ohio: February 19, 2024 – August 31, 2026
These dates are tied directly to statutory time limits in each state (and the date the court granted preliminary approval to the settlement).
What Will You Be Eligible For?
Affected players in the six covered states will have two choices for how they receive their compensation.
- The Default Option – Gold Coins (27%): Gold Coins are credited at a rate of 10,000 GC per $1 USD and no action is required for this, so if you do nothing, this is the default option you’ll receive.
- The Cash Option – direct money transfer (23%): Instead of Gold Coins, you can choose to file an election form to receive 23% of your net purchases in cash.
Both percentages apply to net spending during the covered dates and minus administrative and legal fees for the case.
Also, YSI set a legal condition that no more than 25% of the $14M benefit pool can be paid out in actual cash. If total cash requests exceed this 25% limit, cash payouts will be scaled down proportionally, and any remaining balance will be paid in Gold Coins.
Real-World Examples
To figure out your estimated payout, it’s helpful to calculate your Net Purchase Amount:
Net Purchases = Total Money Deposited – Total Cash Redemptions
Now, here are a couple of examples showing how the two options should work.
Example A – Gold Coin Payout
- Player Profile: Player in Alabama spent $1,000 buying coin packages on Pulsz and cashed out $200 in prize redemptions during the eligible window.
- Net Purchases: $1,000 – $200 = $800
- Default Calculation: 27% of $800 = $216
- Final Result: Player does nothing and automatically receives 2,160,000 Gold Coins added to their Pulsz account (216 x 10,000 GC).
Example B – The Cash Option
- Player Profile: Player in Tennessee had $2,000 in net purchases and files a valid Cash Election Form before the deadline.
- Cash Calculation: 23% of $2,000 = $460
- Final Result: Assuming total cash claims stay under the 25% pool cap, player receives a direct $460 cash transfer to their bank account or digital wallet.
How to File Your YSI Settlement Claim & What Happens Next
Players can submit a cash election claim at ysisettlement.com and must do so by the November 30, 2026 deadline. We encourage any affected players to complete this form, as receiving your payout in cash is likely preferable to Gold Coins for almost all players.
Also bear in mind that the settlement is not official until the court holds its final approval hearing on December 31, 2026. At this hearing, the judge will review any objections and make the final decision to approve the deal. If approved, cash payouts and Gold Coin credits will be distributed shortly after the final order is signed.
