The iGB Affiliate 2025 conference, which took place in Barcelona from January 20 to 23 at Fira Gran Via, brought together over 8,000 professionals from the iGaming affiliate community. The event features more than 200 exhibitors and sponsors, highlighting the latest innovations and trends in the industry, so the SweepsKings team had to be there.
A significant focus of the conference was the flourishing sweepstakes market, which has experienced substantial growth in recent years.
During the event, our CMO, Alex Windsor, delivered an insightful talk on the future of the sweepstakes industry, sharing strategies and insights on how operators can leverage emerging technologies to enhance player engagement. Another talking point was whether we anticipate any big changes regarding the US state laws and what that would mean for the industry as a whole. Windsor’s presentation underscored our commitment to educating operators and advancing industry standards.
In addition to leading a talk at The Pulse Conference Theatre, we are pleased to share some notable updates from iGB Affiliate Barcelona 2025. Over the course of the event, we engaged with more than 10 operators exploring opportunities to launch in the industry, including a big industry name that runs a traditional sportsbook and casino in Europe and other locations. These discussions, along with meetings with existing operators, allowed us to exchange insights and strategize about the future direction of the sweepstakes and broader iGaming industry.
As a start, Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) showcased its new social casino platform, SweepX, designed to cater to the expanding social sweepstakes casino sector. GiG’s CEO, Richard Carter, emphasized the platform’s potential, stating, “By aligning our innovative technology with the evolving needs of the social casino sector, we’re unlocking new opportunities for growth.”
In line with these developments, the new site Gold Rush City was launched, marking the first implementation of GiG’s SweepX platform. This launch signifies a step forward in providing immersive and engaging experiences for players in the social casino landscape.
Looking ahead, Tycoon Sweepstakes announced plans to go live in February 2025, aiming to capture the growing interest in sweepstakes gaming. This upcoming launch is anticipated to diversify the options available to players further and contribute to the market’s expansion.
Moreover, Legendz, a prominent online social casino and one of our partners, informed us of their plans for a substantial addition of games to their platform. This expansion aims to enhance player choice and solidify Legendz’s position in the competitive sweepstakes casino market.
However, not all news was positive. Push Gaming, known for its popular slot titles, indicated that they do not plan to enter the sweepstakes market at this time. This decision highlights the varied approaches companies are taking in response to the evolving gaming landscape.
Overall, iGB Affiliate Barcelona 2025 served us as a pivotal platform for discussions on the future of the iGaming industry, with a particular emphasis on the rapidly growing sweepstakes sector.
Our active participation and engagements during the event reflect our dedication to fostering innovation and collaboration within the industry.
