LuckShack Sweepstakes Casino Review
I’ve seen several different types or offshoots of sweepstakes casino gaming over the years. The model chosen by LuckShack has to be among the worst. It doesn’t operate as a proper sweepstakes casino. Instead, it has elements of internet cafes coupled with sweepstakes casino action. That leaves a lot of uncertainty regarding security, fair play, and transparency.
LuckShack is more of a gateway to third-party software provider platforms than anything else, and that doesn’t bode well for you. Even though I’m coming straight off the bat and telling you to avoid it, I still need to be impartial, so allow me to explain why I’ve come to this conclusion in my LuckShack Casino review.
Pros
- It offers games that aren’t mainstream titles
- It has an exceedingly generous refer-a-friend bonus
Cons
- Lack of transparency around purchases
- Most bonuses aren’t remotely exciting
- There’s no transparency with its operator
- The opening offers are virtually useless
- The site acts more like a gateway to other services than a true social casino
Advertising itself as “America’s #1 Online Sweepstakes Casino” is very disingenuous. LuckShack is far from that, and I believe it is playing fast and loose with the term sweepstakes casino when it is really more of an “internet cafe social casino”. I strongly recommend giving this site a miss.
Legal States
Officially, access to LuckShack is prohibited for players in Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, and Washington. Given the changes ongoing in the sweepstakes casino industry, though, I’d imagine that over-18s in other states will soon be added to that list. Or at least they should, with approved bills forbidding sweeps gaming in states like New York and California.
How LuckShack Social Casino Works
LuckShack is very cloak-and-dagger about how it works. This creates an immense cloud of confusion over its business model for beginners, and that might be what they’re banking on. Fortunately, I’ve seen this practice before, so allow me to explain it to you.
What we have here is a sweepstakes casino that isn’t entirely a sweepstakes casino. LuckShack sells Gold Coins, hands out bonus Sweeps Coins, and handles redemptions, but rather than offering certifiable, trusted and transparent services, LuckShack operates more like an internet cafe.
In effect, it puts you in touch with sweepstakes casino games from third-party providers with little to no accountability for those games. It is, in effect, the same sort of software you get at gas stations and strip clubs. In my opinion, LuckShack is an independent storefront following a distributor model, and is not a true sweepstakes casino.
LuckShack Casino Bonuses
I found LuckShack to be something of an oddity when it came to bonuses. For starters, the official bonus is 1 SC when you register. That’s low, and doesn’t allow you to do very much.
Before making your first purchase, enter the MATCH10 bonus code, as this entitles you to a 100% bonus up to $10.
This lacks all the hallmarks of a proper sweepstakes casino offer. Throw in the fact that LuckShack actually allows anyone to use this bonus code (new players or existing members alike) but only once, and it seems to me that LuckShack doesn’t really know what it’s doing.

Beyond the opening offers (if you could call them that), LuckShack has an array of other promotions. Each is bizarre in its own way, so let me explain what I found:
- Daily Bonuses: Daily bonuses don’t seem to come from LuckShack itself. Instead, they come from the game providers. For instance, I noticed I could claim 25 free entries on my first day playing Golden Dragon, and that rose to 50 on day 3, and would have been 200 on day 7, if I’d made it that far. This is, again, another sign that LuckShack is more of a shell than a true sweepstakes casino, letting others run the show.
- Social Media Giveaways: There is an abundance of social media giveaways, so that’s a plus. However, most are largely the same deal repeated, asking you to comment on a post or share it on Facebook to win between 2 and 5 SC.
- Refer-a-Friend Bonus: Get 10 SC by convincing a friend to purchase coins after registering using your unique referral code.
- AMOE Bonus: This bonus is not worth your time. Going to the trouble of filling out a postal request and obtaining the code to do so is simply not worth the 1 SC reward. This is again an example of LuckShack doing the bare minimum.
- Weekly Referral Contests: Arguably the best deal in the house and the most predatory, this offer provides the player with the most referrals (in a week) with 50 SC. That’s more than any other promo at the site, and I’ve seen instances of players recruiting hundreds. That easily explains the 3,500+ members the site has on its social media player, but how many of them go on to play or are even real, I wonder?
Promotions & Bonus Assessment
LuckShack Casino-Style Games
You might not recognize any of the games at LuckShack, and that’s kind of the point. These games come from small software providers. While they do produce sweepstakes casino games, these titles are generally found at internet cafes and at independent storefronts. They are, therefore, not your average games.
LuckShack has around 100 games for you to choose from, some of which, like Tai Chi Master and Thunder, are standalone games. Others are apps, with brands like Riversweeps and Orion Stars hosting both games with the same name, and dozens of slots, fish games, and arcade titles.
Click on an app, and it will take you to a hub where you can not only choose a game to play, but also, in some instances, claim “free entries” in games through daily bonuses.

| Jackpot Games | Yes |
| Table Games | No |
| Other Gaming Options | Arcade, Fish |
| Gaming Vendors | Fire Kirin, Golden Dragon, Magic City, Orion Stars, Riversweeps, Mega Spin |
I’m not going to recommend playing at any “sweepstakes casino” that is involved with Riversweeps, VPower, or similar companies. Brands such as these use unregulated third-party agents to distribute their games, and in some cases, you can’t purchase coins without dealing with their “agents”. Because LuckShack works with Riversweeps, I can’t guarantee that it isn’t involved in the same practice, so I’m out, so to speak.
Most of the 100+ games at LuckShack are slots, and many are mirrored on classic Vegas-style. Unfortunately, I am not able to verify the RTP rates of the games supported, and some of the brands behind those games don’t disclose their RTP rates, either. Playing these games is a stab in the dark.
The same is true of fish and arcade games, although I at least found that they tended to be a touch more generous when it comes to wins. The most popular fish game at the site is Fire Kirin, specifically, the Jackpot Fire Kirin game, with its progressive prizes.

LuckShack Banking
LuckShack is a bit short on payment methods. Visa and Mastercard are the only real purchasing options, while bank transfers and gift cards are your two redemption methods. I’d very much like to see more options here.
Any purchases made must be worth at least $5. There isn’t much in the way of options when it comes to purchasing Gold Coins. You can’t purchase coins until you’ve been through the KYC process (as detailed a moment ago), and that’s a good thing in terms of safety.

|---|---|---|---|
| Visa | Yes | No | N/A |
| Mastercard | Yes | No | N/A |
| Bank Transfer | No | Yes | Up to 10 days |
| Gift Cards | No | Yes | Up to 10 days |
SC has a redemption value of 1:1 with the US dollar. All bonus SC awarded to players remains valid for a total of 60 days. Redemptions must be worth a minimum of $50 (50 SC), which is a bit higher than I’d like to see for gift cards. Bonus SC must be played through once, but LuckShack states that it reserves the right to increase this to no more than 20x. It hasn’t done so yet.
Players in selected states have prizes capped at $5,000. LuckShack reserves the right to apply the same limits to anyone, and redemptions are limited to $500 every 24 hours. Additional KYC verification may be requested for redemptions worth over $2,000. Redemptions can take up to 10 days, and that’s simply not good enough if you’re redeeming prizes with gift cards.

Is LuckShack Legit?
It’s almost impossible to say, but I was left with the impression not to trust this service. The main reason is that there’s no publicly available information about its operator. By doing some digging, I found that the address registered to its operator (Newby Entertainment) is used as a registered agent service site. That’s not great in my book.
Without any official website or, indeed, any real information about this operator, coupled with its business model, it’s almost impossible to call them legit, so I won’t, even if they are. In fact, the most information you can find about them seems to come from its social media page, and they’re very active on there.

LuckShack definitely gives you the tools needed to keep yourself away from the perils of irresponsible gameplay. The site supports self-exclusion options and allows you to set limits on what you purchase, how much you play, and the amount of time spent playing. It’s arguably one of the best things about LuckShack, and a pleasant surprise.

LuckShack Customer Support
LuckShack provides support via the usual suspects, in terms of live chat and email. It is also heavily active on social media, and that might be a quicker way to get assistance if you need it. Calling them is also an option, and not something you’ll find at every social casino.

LuckShack Casino UX
If you’ve played at an internet cafe-style social casino before, you’ll be familiar with the design of this site. While the overall appearance is optimized for mobiles, much of the activity you engage in at LuckShack takes place in game provider engines, and these feature the same GUI as any other site supporting them.
You need to select a game provider app and enter it to see which games are available, and it is inside those apps where you can claim some daily bonuses. The entire LuckShack part of the site, then, is little more than a distribution hub. Some of these game providers also have proprietary apps you can download from their site, which can be risky.

LuckShack Sister Sites
LuckShack doesn’t have any sister sites that I could find. However, there are definitely some rival “sweepstakes casinos” out there that work in a similar way. One example we’ve already covered here is Riversweeps. That is also a lackluster site, so let’s compare LuckShack against more worthwhile competition below.
Comparison
| LuckShack Alternatives | Games | Welcome Bonus | Apps | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LuckShack | 100+ | 1 SC | Web Apps | Not recommended |
| Riversweeps | 125+ | Requires a purchase | Web Apps | Not recommended |
| PlayFame | 1,000+ | 7,500 GC + 2.5 SC | iOS | Jackpot games |
| Crown Coins | 500+ | 100,000 GC + 2 SC | iOS | Promotions |
| Spree | 2,300+ | 25,000 GC + 2.5 SC | None | Slots range |
How It Stacks Up
The difference between the service that LuckShack provides you, compared to what actual, certified, and 100% trusted social casinos are offering you is night and day.
We have so many trusted and recommended sweepstakes casinos for you to choose from at SweepsKings that there’s no reason to risk anything by playing at LuckShack – essentially a brand that works in the same way as Vegas-X, WebSweeps, BitBetWin, and other blacklisted sweepstakes game distributors.
Our Experts Verdict
Give this one a miss. LuckShack isn’t a classic sweepstakes casino in any sort of conventional sense. It is a borderline internet cafe, acting as a portal to game apps from software providers. It reminds me of a video lottery terminal (VLT) or a video gaming terminal (VGT) at a roadside diner or bar.
While that may appeal to some players, it doesn’t scream sweepstakes casino to me, and since I can’t verify its authenticity, I can only encourage you to look elsewhere.
