OnPoint Sweepstakes Casino Review

OnPoint positions itself as a sleek, suave, and sophisticated social sportsbook and casino that aims to compete with the likes of real-money bookmakers such as DraftKings and FanDuel. At the same time, it operates on a sweepstakes currency model that makes the site free-to-play.

It has a strong selection of 1,124+ slots, tables, live games, and specialties from 26 providers. When it comes to sports betting, there’s also plenty to explore with 21 popular categories and coverage for several e-sports.

While there’s no bonus credited immediately on sign-up, completing the KYC process gives you 5 free SC. The only thing I don’t like is that SC you get from a free bonus is subject to 5x wager requirements. On the bright side, any SC you receive from GC purchases has a 1x playthrough.

OnPoint accepts new players from 44 US states and Washington, D.C. in accordance with new sweepstakes regulations. However, if you reside in California, Nevada, Michigan, New York, New Jersey, or Washington State, you won’t be able to create a new account here.

At the very least, it’s accessible in far more states than real-money competitors like DraftKings and most sweeps casinos like Chumba.

How OnPoint Social Casino Works

As a social sportsbook and casino, OnPoint operates using two in-game currencies: Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins. Like most sweeps casinos, you’ll use your GC to get some practice in before spending SC when you’re ready to risk something tangible.

Even though OnPoint goes against the norm by failing to provide an immediate no deposit bonus, you’ll receive free Sweeps Coins after completing KYC verification. You can also get free SC by sending mail-in requests.

Finally, it’s possible to obtain free SC when you purchase Gold Coins. Technically, you’ll get SC as a bonus. As mentioned above, free SC that you obtain from purchases has a 1x playthrough, while free SC that you get from free bonuses (quests and KYC) has 5x wagering requirements.

Once you’ve won at least 100 SC and satisfied the aforementioned wagering requirement, you can request a real cash prize. Each SC has $1 in redemption value, making the minimum OnPoint Casino payout equivalent to $100.

In order to get 5 free SC upfront at OnPointCasino.us, I had to complete KYC verification. I opened “Profile,” chose “KYC,” and clicked “Verify” to get started on Sumsub. I was prompted to upload a photocopy of my ID and take a real-time selfie for biometric authentication.

From here, my identity was confirmed immediately. The coins arrived just a few minutes later. I also bumped into several 100% first purchase offers, ranging from $25 up to $1,000. I took advantage of the $25 discount, but here’s a snapshot of everything that’s available on the site:

Unfortunately, promotions are sparse at OnPoint. There’s no guaranteed daily bonus available, and there is not much to look forward to beyond some pretty hefty first purchase discounts. I did get the chance to spin the Wheel of Fortune each day, but I only got GC bonuses or free spins instead of the 5 SC (or even 0.5 SC) I was hoping for.

I also had fun completing Quests in exchange for additional SC, but you have to spend SC in order to get more. This puts you in a position where you’re almost obligated to buy some coins. For example, my first Quest required me to drop 5 SC on gameplay in exchange for 25 SC. You also have to contend with the 5x wagering requirement on free SC derived from bonuses, so it’s not particularly rewarding if you do the math.

There is an affiliate program offered by the site, but this program is meant for operators rather than individual players. The only other promos available are VIP perks. Taking a closer look at the VIP program, you’ll get XP with each casino or sports wager you place using Sweeps Coins.

The more XP you get, the higher your Monthly Performance Rewards. At the height of it all, you can expect a 22% MPR based on your monthly gameplay activity and VIP status. I just wish the site was more forthcoming about how these bonuses are calculated, since the T&C’s are vague.

As you progress from Bronze to Black Diamond, you can also anticipate exclusive promotions, VIP support, quicker redemptions, and customized perks. Again, there’s little to no clarification about how these might translate to your gameplay experience.

OnPoint prioritizes quality and quantity alike with a mixture of 1,124+ games from 26 new and established software providers. It’s great to see familiar companies like Betsoft and Rogue here, especially since Betsoft does the honors of providing 100+ jackpot machines.

I’m also impressed with the number of newer faces in the mix, as it’s difficult to find options from 155.io, Speedy Tomatoes, Halfsquare, and Edge Labs at other sweepstakes platforms. In total, I discovered 1,013 slots, 46 virtual tables, 20 live options, and 45 specialties.

The site’s collection definitely panders to casino players, and it puts equivalent focus on serious sports bettors.

Getting set up with OnPoint’s payment system is simple, but it requires a few steps. I had to enter my name, phone number, and state of residence before moving to the payments page.

After receiving a verification code, I was able to buy coins right away. I don’t like that there’s a nominal processing fee on GC purchases (for example, my $10 package came out to $10.02), and the site’s 100 SC redemption minimum feels like a tall order as well.

I was able to receive my $105 prize through crypto just 12 hours after requesting it. While ACH redemptions aren’t offered yet, a quick look at the site’s T&C’s indicates that they’re on the way.

Is OnPoint Sportsbook & Casino Legit?

OnPoint may have gotten off to a rough start during its first go-around, but the tides seem to be changing positively for this brand. It’s tackled previous issues with customer support, works with a wide range of reputable software providers, and comes with pretty good sports betting odds.

Payments/redemptions are quick and easy. KYC is also simple and secure, since your personal information is handled through Sumsub, a third-party verification provider. While the platform is too new to gauge public opinion, my personal experience was more than decent on all fronts.

The only thing I don’t like is how easy it is to sign up from a restricted state. I was able to create a new account from New York City with no VPN, so OnPoint will need to improve its geo-fencing game in order to comply with sweepstakes regulations on a state-by-state basis.

If you want to get in touch with support, your only choice is to send an email. The Discord link at the website footer is currently broken, and I didn’t get any replies on Facebook or Instagram. It’s a silver lining that OnPoint’s team responds in 1 – 2 hours on average.

OnPoint Casino UX

OnPoint’s UI is compact, easy to use, and responsive across platforms. Where it falls short is how it’s organized. When I clicked on “All Slots,” I was only able to view 100 or so games. If I hadn’t done some additional research on the website, I’d have never discovered 1,124+ titles.

I believe OnPoint would benefit from themed collections that accurately portray the diversity of its library. There’s something for everyone here, but you’ll need to do some digging if you want to find the right games for your needs.

Additionally, when searching for table games, it’s best to look for them manually. In total, you’ll have 46 virtual tables to choose from. The issue here is that only 11 games are shown on the homepage, while the others are buried.

I didn’t notice this kind of disorganization on the sportsbook end of things, for whatever reason.

Moving onto the user interface, the side menu grants access to daily quests, tournaments (not yet active), and your Wheel of Fortune spins.

There’s also a “Lotteries” tab, but clicking it draws a blank page for now. I do like the bottom-row menu on mobile, which makes it easy to switch between OnPoint casino play and sports bets on a whim.

As mentioned, Sportzino has a slightly larger collection of sports betting picks, while Jake Paul’s flagship platform (Betr) shifts focus to DFS picks and social casino games. It’s worth noting that both Sportzino and Betr have downloadable apps for iOS and Android, while OnPoint does not.

Legendz’ sportsbook is on-par with OnPoint, but it has additional options for entertainment focused betting (like political wagers), whereas OnPoint focuses on regular sports.

Finally, WinBonanza is a traditional sweepstakes casino without any sports betting opportunities (but it does eclipse most of the bonuses offered here).

Our Experts Verdict

From my perspective, OnPoint is a great social casino and sportsbook with just a handful of key issues that need to be fixed. With 1,124 top games, 22+ sports betting categories, generous first purchase discounts, and regular quests you can do for extra SC, there’s plenty of fun to be had.

My only real complaints lie with the site’s 5x playthrough on SC you get from free bonuses, lack of ongoing promotions beyond the Wheel of Fortune, and limited ability to accurately document games on the homepage.

Even the email-only support is workable, due to how quickly the team replies. While I’d love to see a better commitment to live chat/phone support and more promos, I’d absolutely suggest giving OnPoint a try with the 5 free SC you get after KYC!
