How Runewager Casino Works

As mentioned, Runewager features two types of currencies: non-redeemable Fun Cash (FC) and redeemable Sweeps Cash (SC). You can purchase FC for RuneScape’s in-game Gold or through one of several popular cryptocurrencies. SC can’t be bought directly, but they do come as a bonus when purchasing FC.

The minimum purchase is however much 10,000 FC is worth at the time (the value of OSRS and RS3 Gold are prone to change). For each 10,000 FC, you will get 1 SC for free.

You can also use cryptocurrencies to purchase and redeem prizes, with 1 SC worth 0.25 USD converted to its cryptocurrency equivalent.

You can view and browse the Runewager lobby even without registering. Moreover, the games are available in demo mode, so you can test them out before risking any FC or SC, although there is a limited amount of FUN demo coins in your balance. You can even play live dealer games in demo mode, an option I haven’t seen on many casino sites.

The minimum plays start at under 1 FC for most slots, which is ideal if you wish to keep it casual. Since you’ll be getting a constant flow of coins through daily and other rewards, these low limits allow you to play almost endlessly. You can’t buy coins directly for cash and vice versa; instead, you can only use crypto or in-game Gold from the RuneScape online game and trade it with other players. Here are the steps to purchasing Fun Cash at Runewager:

2. Make sure you’re on the Purchase tab and select one of the available payment methods.
3. Type in your casino username and the amount you want to pay or the number of Sweeps Cash you wish to receive as a bonus.
4. Click purchase to proceed.
   • If you select one of the RuneScape Gold options, you will automatically be assisted by live chat agents and paired with another user willing to trade.
   • If you select crypto, you will receive a QR code and address. Then, you can complete the transaction using your digital wallet.

Is Runewager Casino Legit?

There is little information about Runewager, which makes me question its legitimacy. I also found no trace of its operating company, OffTick Limited. The platform seems to have launched in late 2024 (at least that’s when some of its earliest social media posts are from) and only has a handful of reviews on Trustpilot, most of which are overwhelmingly positive (and possibly paid).

However, Runewager does seem to host an active community of RuneScape players. When I tried to complete a purchase, I immediately received a response from one of the players, who told me his in-game location so we could complete a trade. The live chat is buzzing with new messages left by what seem to be legitimate users.

Banners at the top advertise promotions, while the lobby chat and game menu can be minimized for more space. The pages load quickly on both desktop and mobile.

Runewager has no sister sites and is unique in the sweepstakes landscape, considering its focus on RuneScape Gold trading. The only similar sweepstakes casino I have encountered is Runestake.

How It Stacks Up

Runewager has a long way to go if it hopes to compete with Mega Bonanza, WOW Vegas, and Fortune Coins. Given its short track record, lack of company information, and unclear details on how the site protects and uses player data, players will be hesitant to join.

The Runewager team should also consider adding more games, as the library is currently less than a fifth the size of some of the biggest sweepstakes brands. More payment options and more affordable coin packages would surely attract players and not just those who play RuneScape.

To be fair, Runewager is relatively new on the market, and improvements are expected.

Our Experts Verdict

Runewager was probably the most difficult sweepstakes casino I have reviewed lately. Since there is almost no information about the casino and its company online, I had to dig deep to learn everything about it.

All things considered, I wouldn’t recommend Runewager to players, not only due to an unproven track record and unconvincing safety profile but also because it primarily targets players of a specific online game called RuneScape.

People looking for standard sweepstakes casino gameplay would be puzzled the moment they tried to purchase coins, and although there are alternatives in the form of crypto payments and Kinguin, the packages are expensive and not worth the trouble.

Live dealer games, good UX, and unique promotions such as challenges are all positives, but the small game library, no mobile app, and lack of a first-purchase bonus take away points in those areas as well.

Unless you’re a RuneScape fan looking to explore fun casino games, you will find a better fit in the Runewager alternatives I have highlighted in this review.
