While you can take your pick of several slots in this series at sweeps casinos, Elvis Frog in Vegas is where it all began. Launched in May 2020, this quirky slot features an Elvis impersonator as your title character as he rocks out in Las Vegas, a fitting setting for a game of chance. Elvis Frog in Vegas features a customary 5-reel, 25-line setup, an industry standard RTP rate of 96%, and alleged medium to high volatility. I’ll explain why I’m not convinced about that shortly.

While the anthropomorphic amphibian is belting out the hits, you’ll stumble across free spins with mega symbols (Blazing Reels) and a Coin Respin mode while you attempt to walk away with a Tutti-Frutti Jackpot prize via the latter. Play your cards right, and you could end up with a win worth 2,500x a bet. Discover where this BGaming-developed slot excels and falls short in the rest of this Elvis Frog in Vegas slot review.

About Elvis Frog in Vegas: Game Overview

Elvis Frog Vegas

Right from the start, you’ll see that most of the imagery on the reels of this game is classic and conventional. You’ve got Jacks through Aces as standard paying symbols, coughing up wins of 5x to 50x. More thematic elements, including microphones, acoustic guitars, cars and a dancing dame frog, can contribute wins of 10x up to 500x. Three or more are needed to score any sort of win, as you’d expect in a typical 5-reel, 25-line release.

Special symbols include Elvis, who springs up as a wild or substitute symbol that can stand in for all, barring scatters. He can also provide wins worth 25x, 250x or 500x if 3, 4 or 5 show up on a line. Scatters appear as Walk of Fame stars, and they’ll offer you scattered wins worth 1x, but trigger a free spin round if they appear on reels 1, 3 and 5 during gameplay. Lastly, there are coin symbols. Each has its own monetary value based on the amount you stake. You’ll need six or more to trigger the Coin Respin mechanic, but more on that in a second.

The most you can win here is 2,500x, and you’ll have an opportunity to land that via the Coin Respin round. In my own experience, I found that the free spin feature delivers more consistent prizes, and they regularly refilled my balance. However, neither was particularly easy to trigger.

Elvis Frog in Vegas may look rather rudimentary, but you should consider that its newer sequels aren’t definitely better. Aloha King Elvis utilizes the same structure as this release but offers lower RTP rates (94.92%) and prizes (2,000x). Meanwhile, the most recent sequel, Elvis Frog Trueways, has a better RTP and Megaways-style payline mechanic but is exceptionally highly volatile – crazily so. Given these alternatives, I can honestly say that the simple-looking Elvis Frog in Vegas does offer you the best, full-rounded experience of the trio.

Elvis Frog in Vegas Slot Information

BGaming doesn’t always allow you to tinker with the paylines you have in play, and that’s the case here. All twenty-five of them are fixed. That’s quite alright, though, as the minimum stake sits at a fair 0.25 SC a pop. You can use the “total bet” option to increase your stakes, with a ceiling bet firmly fixed at 25.00 SC a turn.

Elvis Frog Info

Accompanying the main betting button is a series of additional options. An autoplay feature lets you rack up 10, 25, 50, 100, even 250, 500, 750, 1,000 or, in theory, an unlimited number of spins in succession. A selection of advanced options also allows you to set the conditions for terminating the autospin procedure. These include stopping on a specific win if the bonus round is triggered, if a single exceeds a given amount, or if your balance increases or decreases by a predetermined sum. You can terminate the mechanic simply by hitting the stop button, too. You’ve also got the option to enable quick spins. This speeds up gameplay, but only on spins where no win is released.

After a win, you can choose to hit spin or the money bag symbol to collect, or the playing card icon if you fancy risking your winnings in a gamble mode. Any win can theoretically be gambled. Predicting the color or, if you’re feeling adventurous, the suit of the next card in the sequence can see you double or quadruple your win – guess incorrectly and you’ll lose your win. Given that this mechanic offers a fifty-fifty chance of success at best, it isn’t worth utilizing, save for when gambling the smallest wins. I don’t recommend using the gamble mode on anything over 5 SC.

With your wagers set, you can start hunting down prizes. I encourage you to check the paytable beforehand, but I’m going to walk you through the special features in the game next anyway.

Elvis Frog in Vegas Slot Features

There are three special features, and the gamble mode for you to consider in this game. I’ll touch on each of them below and explain how they work.

Stacked Wild Reels

Elvis the Frog isn’t just our title character and a substitute symbol – he’s a stacked wild. Wilds can appear on all reels and stretch to one to three symbols in a stack. They occur considerably frequently in this game, which makes me question its declared volatility level. Landing wins with wilds doesn’t appear to be an issue. They can’t replace scatters or coin symbols, though.

Stacked Wild Reels

Free Spin Bonus with Blazing Reels

Elvis Frog Free Spins

Scattered stars only crop up on the first, third and fifth reels, and you’ll need them on all three to trigger the free spin bonus. This isn’t easily done. Once it is triggered, you’ll receive five free spins. This may seem like a rather paltry number, but consider this – you can win more by collecting three more scatters or add to your tally if a mega scatter appears in the bonus. Furthermore, there is no cap on how many times you can retrigger the feature.

Elvis Frog Spins

The free spin bonus isn’t conventional, either. The first and fifth reels remain as usual, but the second to fourth reels will only show one mega symbol. This is known as the Blazing Reels mechanic. Because you’ve guaranteed to get a mega symbol spanning all three of those reels, wins are widespread – and decent ones at that. Again, bag a wild or a scatter here, and you’ll land an epic payday or add three spins to your tally.

Elvis Frog Jackpot

Coin Respin Mode

Elvis Frog Coin Respin

Each coin symbol will have a monetary value on it in the base game. These will be worth 1x to 8x, or 10x, 14x, 16x, 18x, or 20x the value of your bet. Landing six on the reels (anywhere) in the base game will initiate the coin respin mode. This is incredibly difficult to land, and often, the symbols will just take up space on the reels, denying you a win. This could, theoretically, be where the slightly higher volatility level comes from.

Elvis Frog Mini Major

Once triggered (and it was a slog for me), the coin symbols that activated the round will remain frozen. All other spots on the reels will be filled with blank spaces and coins. You’ve got three respins to collect as many of these as possible. At the end of the round, those that appear on screen will be tallied up and added to your balance.

Tutti-Frutti Jackpot Prizes

During the Coin Respin mode, you could get your hands on one of three Tutti-Frutti Jackpot prizes. The Mini and Major Jackpot prizes are won by landing their respective coins on the screen. To land the Mega Jackpot of 2,500x your bet, you’ll need to cover the screen, all fifteen spots, in coins. That’s a big ask. Admittedly, I saw the jackpot icons appear in the base game, too, but it didn’t appear as though they served any purpose other than act as basic Coin Respin mode-triggering symbols.

Gamble Feature

As touched on, Elvis Frog in Vegas’ gamble mode can be triggered on any round following a win. You’ll be shown a card. You can then decide whether to risk your winnings by guessing the color (red or black) or suit (hearts, spades, diamonds and clubs) of the next card in the sequence. You’ll win 2x or 4x your winnings if successful but end up with zip if you lose. It is possible to re-gamble anything you’ve just gambled, assuming you win. Again, I don’t recommend doing that.

Game Specs: RTP & Volatility

According to its developers, BGaming rates Elvis Frog in Vegas as medium to highly volatile. It certainly doesn’t always feel that way. In fact, wins occur surprisingly frequently, and several in succession will generally see you recoup stakes. In my experience, coupled with the fact that it offers many smaller-scale wins rather regularly, I’d be comfortable saying that Elvis Frog in Vegas could realistically feel like a low-medium variance game, even if, on paper, it isn’t defined as such.

There’s no arguing with the RTP rate. At 96%, it’s at the industry standard level, and feels like it. That’s neither an overly negative or positive thing – it’s just what we’ve come to expect from most sweeps slots.

200 Spins Test of Elvis Frog in Vegas

I played 200 spins with a 1,000 SC bankroll for this review. Two hundred free spins didn’t cut it. At no point in the game did my balance run dry – I regularly landed wins using the stacked wilds to replenish my balance. However, it wasn’t until around six hundred spins or so before I unlocked the Coin Respin mode, and while I came away with wins worth 400 SC, I couldn’t add to the pile.

By 800 free spins, I had triggered the free spin bonus. This was an extraordinarily long time to wait for a feature. Was it worth it? Absolutely. I doubled my remaining balance, taking past the 1,500 SC mark. Within a few spins, wouldn’t you know it – I triggered the feature again and landed additional free spins. I may not have won the Tutti-Frutti Jackpot, but I came away with a healthy balance of 2,653 SC – more than double (and then some) what I started with. Nobody will complain about that.

Our Experts Verdict and Ratings

Elvis Frog in Vegas didn’t disappoint. Yes, it takes an extraordinarily long time to trigger features, but it’s worth it. I’m not convinced that this is a medium to highly volatile game. On gameplay alone, it felt much lower.

Elvis Frog in Vegas doesn’t offer much in the way of heart-pumping excitement and innovative features. However, for most players, none of that is going to matter when you see your balance regularly replenished and a profit coming your way. Those two things, Elvis Frog in Vegas does exceptionally well, whatever real volatility rating BGaming has chosen to give it.
