ZanZo Casino Closes After Only Four Months

ZanZo sweepstakes casino has closed down only four months after launching, leaving players angry and questioning whether the site was a scam all along.

Launched by Volanta Group Digital in February this year, ZanZo attracted attention with a 10 SC no deposit signup bonus. This was later reduced to 1 SC before the platform went offline entirely in the last week or so.

The operator didn’t appear to run any other sweepstakes casino brands, meaning ZanZo was its only product, but the operator’s business website is still online.

Did ZanZo Announce Its Closure?

It seems the site shut down in the worst of ways: with no official announcement, taking players’ money with it. An exit scam, essentially.

The site’s social media accounts are gone, and if you go to the zanzo.casino domain, there’s no content anymore.

Things become clearer if you take a read of the latest reviews from players on Trustpilot. There are even suggestions the brand encouraged users to make purchases just before the shutdown.

We’ll include a couple of examples of Trustpilot reviews from (rightly) disgruntled players below:

Website shut down, scammed.

Bought the 39.99 for 200 SC package, won enough to redeem, tried to verify my account but got an error every time, contacted support and got no response. Owners of the website have now shut down the website. Scammers.”

This casino is actually a complete…

This casino is actually a complete scam. After purchasing a substantial package it wouldn’t let me redeem. It kept saying the minimum redemption amount was 50 SC but the maximum amount was 25 SC, which obviously makes no sense. Tried for over a week to get in touch with customer service, but never heard back. Do not, do not, do not play on this site!!”

So it seems players were unable to even verify their accounts in the days leading up to the exit, meaning no redemptions could take place. This was the case even though ZanZo was still sending out marketing emails, recommending that players buy GC and SC packs.

And unfortunately, if you did have SC in your wallet at ZanZo at the time of closure, it’s highly unlikely you’ll be able to retrieve it with the site gone.

Why Did ZanZo Casino Shut Down?

Rather than being forced to close down due to operational or financial reasons, it seems like an exit scam could have been the plan here all along.

We reviewed ZanZo when it launched in February, and on the surface many of the things we’d expect from a legit operation were present. The company behind the site, Volanta Group Digital LLC, is registered in Delaware, for example.

However, the addresses used in these registrations aren’t necessarily real offices. In fact, in this case (8 The Green, Ste A, Dover, Delaware 19901, USA), it’s actually a well known registered-agent address used by thousands of businesses. One directory even lists more than 2,500 companies at that address.

So the address tells us the company was legally formed in Delaware, but it doesn’t tell us much about the business really. Interestingly, Volanta’s website is still up at www.volantagroup.com, with the ‘About’ page claiming:

“We are a team of dedicated professionals with extensive expertise in Networking, DevOps, and System Administration committed to shaping secure, scalable, and future-ready digital solutions.”

But this won’t be much use to angry players who’ve lost their winnings now that ZanZo is gone; it’s clear the company is not to be trusted.

For sweepstakes players, it’s another reminder to be cautious with brand new casinos, especially those with not much history. In an industry where new sites are still launching almost every week, longevity and reputation still matter.
