McLuck, Hello Millions & More Sweeps Pull out of New York

It seems that all B2 sweepstakes casinos are pulling out of New York, likely in response to the news that bills to ban sweeps sites are currently advancing through the state legislature.

PlayFame NY State Info

We’ve received emails about withdrawal from the state from multiple B2 casinos, so it’s safe to assume all sister sites will be leaving by the end of April.

B2Services OÜ is the Estonian parent company of multiple popular sweepstakes casinos:

If you’re a NY-based member of any of the above, it’s time to settle up by redeeming your remaining Sweepstakes Coins before April 29th.

Details of B2 Sites Leaving New York State

  • From April 3rd, players will no longer be able to purchase Gold Coin packages.
  • Players can continue to play using any remaining Gold Coins or enter promotional sweepstakes with any remaining Sweepstakes Coins until April 16th.
  • Any mail-in requests for free SC dated after April 3rd will not be credited.
  • Players will be able to redeem any SC until April 29th. After this date, it will no longer be possible to redeem any further prizes.
  • On April 30th, NY-based accounts will automatically close, revoking access, and any remaining Gold Coins and Sweepstakes Coins will expire.

3 Oaks & More Operators Exit the Empire State Too

It’s not just sweepstakes casinos. We’ve received word that popular slots developer 3 Oaks will be pulling out of the Empire State as well. This news came via Pulsz, which is another brand leaving the state.

3 Oaks offers games like Fishin’ Bear, Big Heist, and Lucky Penny at various sweepstakes casinos, but players in New York will no longer be able to play its slots from March 26th.

Finally, Rolling Riches and Lucky Hands sweeps casinos will also be withdrawing from New York. Details below:

  • Beginning on March 25th, Lucky Hands will no longer allow purchases from users based in New York.
  • NY players can play with any remaining coins until April 24th, and any SC redemption requests should also be made before this date.
  • After April 24th, access from New York state will be fully restricted and your account closed down.
  • If you move to a different state where Lucky Hands still operates, it should be possible to reopen your account by emailing customer support.

Other sites that have announced their exit from NY ensure that players have enough time to redeem their SCs. However, don’t wait until the final day, just in case something unexpected happens, as it did with RealPrize.

Anti-Sweepstakes Bills Being Debated by New York Lawmakers

At the time of writing, Senate Bill S5935 is passing through the New York state legislature. Filed by Senator Joseph Addabbo at the start of the month, it seeks to prohibit sweepstakes casinos by amending the current Racing, Pari-mutuel Wagering, and Breeding Law. If passed, illegal operators could face fines of up to $100,000.

An identical counterpart proposal, A6745 has also been filed in the Assembly by Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner. Both bills are being debated currently and could potentially pass into law before the end of the year. If this happens, it’s very likely we’ll see an exodus of all NY sweepstakes casinos.

Senator Addabbo, chair of the Senate Racing, Gaming and Wagering Committee, has expressed a desire to usher in legal iGaming in New York. However, skeptics have pointed out that previous attempts in recent years have failed, so there’s no reason another would gain any traction this year.

For now, the sweepstakes ban seems more likely, and B2 and Pulsz look to be getting ahead of that potential outcome.

However, it’s sad news in general for players in one of the most populous states in the US.
