Out of the nearly 50 sweepstakes sites I’ve tried out over the years, Modo.us has the most restrictions on where you can play. Only 37 states are eligible, so if you’re in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Jersey, Montana, Michigan, Idaho, Washington, Maryland, Delaware, Rhode Island, West Virginia, Nevada, or Louisiana, you’ll need to look elsewhere.

How Modo.us Works

The site offers two modes: GC and SC play. Gold Coins are just game credits you can buy to play for fun, while Sweeps Coins can’t be bought—they’re given as bonuses. The lobby is easy to navigate, with filters that let you sort games by category or specific features like Hold and Win or Megaways. Keep in mind that while anyone logged in can browse the lobby, you’ll need to verify your phone number before you can play the games.

Payment Options Review

To check your coin balance, simply look to the top right corner of the screen. For more coins, click “Get Coins” in the sidebar to explore available packages. You can grab a GC package for as low as $0.99, though it doesn’t include free SC. Note that Modo.us isn’t a real-money casino—Sweeps Coins aren’t equivalent to cash. You must play through your SC at least once before redeeming at the rate of 1 SC = $1.

Redemption options are limited to Visa debit cards, bank transfers, and gift cards. To redeem with a Visa card, it must be the same card used to buy Gold Coins. Redemption times vary based on your payment method and prior use. If you’ve already completed KYC checks and redeemed SC before, future redemptions might be faster.

The site claims to pay out cash prizes in about 72 working hours, but after 5 members of the SweepsKings team tested it out, none of us got our winnings in less than 6 days. So keep your expectations in check.

Take FunzCity Casino, for example. You can cash out your Sweeps Coins with just $25 in your account, but on Modo, you have to hit $100 before you can redeem via bank transfer. And let’s talk about bonuses; Modo.us gives you just 1 Sweeps Coin for signing up, which is pretty underwhelming when you consider Fortune Coins throws in a jaw-dropping 1,400 FC ($14)!

The live chat feature is only for high-ranking VIP members, payment options are limited, withdrawals take too long, and the bonuses are nothing to write home about. Overall, Modo.us has some serious catching up to do before it can play in the big leagues with top sweepstakes casinos.

Our Experts Verdict

Modo.us isn’t a bad online casino—it’s got a decent selection of slots and some good bonuses for new players. However, I found myself frustrated with a few things.

The first thing is the lack of unique reload bonuses. There’s the lack of a live chat feature for new users, so your only option is to submit a request form and wait hours to get a response. The fact that the site hides its payment methods until you verify your account is also a bit shady, and I was not impressed with the limited banking options either.

To top it off, withdrawals on Modo.us take longer than I’m used to. Most casinos I’ve played at process payouts within 2-3 days, but Modo.us stretched it to 6 days.
