The Money Factory sweepstakes casino has permanently shut down without warning, bringing an end to a brand that has attracted plenty of criticism.
The shutdown announcement was made with a notice on the website, completely replacing the casino platform:
“After careful consideration, The Money Factory has permanently ceased operations as of August 9, 2026. No new registrations, purchases, or gameplay are being accepted.”
The announcement went on:
“All player accounts, balances, and pending redemption requests have been recorded and preserved. Players with pending requests do not need to take any action — your request and your account records are on file.”
However, SweepsKings feels this provides no real clarity for players expecting SC redemptions.
The announcement continued:
“The company is conducting an orderly wind-down. Players with questions, or who wish to request a copy of their account records, may contact playershutdown@themoneyfactory.com. We will respond as quickly as we are able and will post further updates here as the wind-down progresses.”
Again, this doesn’t make it clear whether players will actually receive their outstanding redemptions or SC balances, although an email to the brand may elicit further information.
Unfortunately, this is looking like one of those nightmare scenarios for players – a sudden shutdown with no clear explanation of what will happen, and many players will assume the worst.
The Money Factory Players Were Already Waiting Months
We can’t say for certain that funds are lost, but The Money Factory was already known for massive payment delays, with some customers being told that redemptions could take up to 90 days. That is completely unacceptable, by the way.
This is why SweepsKings blacklisted The Money Factory in March this year – we were the first site to raise alarm bells over the brand. We felt we had to take action after reading countless negative user reviews on The Money Factory’s Trustpilot page and receiving similar feedback on our own user forums.
On Trustpilot, multiple players have mentioned waiting months in their 1-star reviews. One user said they had been waiting more than five months for a redemption, while another recently claimed to have been waiting a full year. Another player claimed they were owed more than $8,000.
On the SweepsKings forums, players wrote similar things. For example:
“They’re going to steal from you. 90+ days for redemptions, if they even bother to pay out at all” – Allen
So for now, players with SC still on the platform are left waiting for answers, and given The Money Factory’s track record, there’s little reason for those players to be reassured by the shutdown.
Two More GammaSweep Sites (Spinzta/CoinFrenzy) Are Also Closing
In fact, The Money Factory isn’t the only sweepstakes casino to announce a closure in recent days, and there is a connection with the two other brands shutting down.
Spinzta, a sister site to The Money Factory, also permanently shut down on August 9. Its notice is almost identical to The Money Factory’s, including the same wording about player accounts, balances and pending redemptions being “recorded and preserved.”
Spinzta’s shutdown notice also directs players to the same The Money Factory email address for questions about the wind-down. This makes sense, as both brands have been operated by The Money Factory LLC.
Then we learned that CoinFrenzy is also closing, although, thankfully, it’s given more of a clear timetable. The site has stopped accepting new purchases but says players can continue to redeem eligible balances or use existing balances until September 25, 2026:
“Effective today, CoinFrenzy has stopped accepting new purchases.
You may continue to log in to redeem your eligible balance or use your existing balance before September 25, 2026. After this date, CoinFrenzy will cease operations.”
This is a much more acceptable approach to a casino closure and what we like to see, giving players a few weeks to wind things down.
The connection between all of these sites comes in the form of GammaSweep, a provider of white-label sweepstakes casino platforms. In fact, GammaSweep, The Money Factory, and Spinzta are all run by the same people, namely Trevor Pope and Clay Johnson.
We don’t know whether GammaSweep in particular has anything to do with the closures, but three casinos connected to it announcing their shutdowns within days of each other seems like more than a coincidence.
But ultimately, for The Money Factory players, the main concern is the same one that has been hanging over the site for months: redemptions. The brand says pending redemption requests have been “recorded and preserved,” but hasn’t said whether or when players will actually receive their money.
And given the site’s history, we wouldn’t advise holding your breath. If you’re one of the players potentially affected by this, make sure to read our honest reviews in the future to help discern between good and shady platforms.
