3 Pot Buffalo is a Wild West-themed slot released by growing studio TaDa Gaming – a game developer that focuses on US sweepstakes casinos. 3 Pot Buffalo is a flagship slot that comes as an addition to the ‘3 Pot’ series from TaDa Gaming – 3 Pot Dragons, 3 Coin Treasure, 3 Lucky Piggy, etc. All have TaDa’s unique TriLuck feature.

The game in question was released in February 2025 and is a medium to high volatility game with a hit rate of 24% and a default RTP of 92% (the actual RTP is variable and depends on the sweepstakes casino you play at). The gameplay is based on the 1024 ways to win system, where a winning combination is formed whenever matching symbols land on adjacent reels from left to right – regardless of where they are vertically.

3 Pot Buffalo follows a 5×4 grid with 5 reels on 4 rows. This grid is doubled during the Double Up feature, so while the feature is active, the grid actually has 8 rows. The maximum possible win in the game is 10,000x the bet, and with a max bet of 10, you can, theoretically, win a 100 grand jackpot!

The TriLuck feature really is something, and although it took me some time to fully understand how it works, it’s a blast once you get the hang of it. Feel free to try 3 Pot Buffalo for yourself at SweepKings-approved social casinos, or stay with me to find out more details about this slot game.

About 3 Pot Buffalo: Game Overview

If your idea of a fun slot involves dusty trails, howling wolves, and the hooves of wild buffalos, then you’ll definitely like 3 Pot Buffalo. Set in a Western backdrop, this slot combines an old-school Western theme with modern features. The symbols include wolves, moose, bald eagles, bears, and buffalo.

3 Pot Buffalo Gameplay

The main selling point of this game is the TriLuck feature. Above the reels, there are three pots (that look more like barrels than pots) with golden coins, and each triggers a different feature. This is a feature that’s been patented by TaDa Gaming and we’ve already seen it in other flagship games by this studio.

3 Pot Buffalo Feature

So, when I first started the game, I expected the same gameplay as these games with a different theme, but I was surprised to see that it’s an entirely different slot. The gameplay is very dynamic and wins occur fairly often – but the bonus features don’t, so you’ll have to wait for some time for a bonus feature to activate organically.

3 Pot Buffalo Slot Information

Since 3 Pot Buffalo uses the 1024 ways to win mechanic, it means that paylines aren’t fixed. Instead, you score a win by landing matching symbols on adjacent reels from left to right, regardless of their exact position on each reel. The only exception is the Wild Cowboy symbol, which can lasso buffalo symbols that are anywhere on the reels to form a winning combination.

The lower-paying symbols are represented by playing cards from 9 to A, and three or more symbols of the same type are needed to form a winning combination (up to 5). The symbols you want are the wild animals, starting with the Moose, and then the Wolf, Bear, Bald Eagle, and Buffalo as the highest-paying standard symbol in the base game. A combination of 5 buffalos pays out 3x the bet.

The bet levels range from 0.1 to 10 and you can change the bet size by clicking the Play button to the left of the TaDa spin button in the middle.

Besides the standard symbols, there are many other symbols that activate some of the bonus features. Some of them appear during the standard game, like the 3 types of golden coins you collect in the pots, and some only appear when a bonus feature is active. There’s also an option to buy a feature, by clicking the Play Feature button at the top right part of the screen.

My only complaint is that the game is only available in portrait mode, so it’s better suited for mobile players than desktop users like myself. Another minor complaint is that while you see the coins piling up in the 3 pots, there’s no counter – so you don’t know how many coins you need to activate a feature.

3 Pot Buffalo Slot Features

The TriLuck feature by TaDa Gaming is actually three different features that can be randomly activated during the gameplay, or purchased with the Play Feature option. Before I continue, I should point out that there’s a Wild symbol in the base game, the Grand Canyon Wild, which can replace any symbol to form a winning combination except the special symbols.

Feature Coins & TriLuck

3 Pot Buffalo Coins

There are three feature coins in the game that drop randomly during the base game – but not the bonus games. They’re the purple-background Golden Buffalo that goes in the Double Up pot, the orange-background Golden Buffalo that goes in the Gold pot, and the green-background Golden Buffalo symbol that goes in the Cowboy pot.

Each coin that drops on the reels automatically goes into the corresponding pot, and once the pot fills up, one, two, or all three bonus games activate. Here comes the most exciting part of the game: the TriLuck. In other words, all three coins can show up on the reels, and they can trigger all three features at once. The bonuses of all the features are combined, and if you want to buy it, it costs 150x the wager amount.

Double Up

3 Pot Buffalo Double Up

The Double Up feature adds another board above the standard game layout. The added board is identical to the original, with 4 rows and 5 reels, and you spin both of them with a single spin, yet the two game boards calculate winning points independently. So, you can get payouts from both. The feature is active for 8 free spins.

Gold Feature

3 Pot Buffalo Gold Feature

When the Gold feature activates, it adds another symbol, the Golden Buffalo, and it’s collected and converted into a standard buffalo symbol – the highest-paying symbol. Essentially, the feature doubles the amount of buffalo symbols that show up on the reels, and the bonus symbols can be combined with the standard buffalo symbols to form winning combinations.

Cowboy

3 Pot Buffalo Cowboy

The Cowboy feature adds a new symbol – the Cowboy Wild. It can appear on any reel and lasso all the buffalo symbols that are anywhere on the reels to form winning combinations. What’s more, while the feature is active, all buffalo symbols receive random multipliers of 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, and, 1000x, so any win that occurs during the 8 free spins while the feature is active is multiplied by the corresponding multiplier.

Scatter

3 Pot Buffalo Scatter

The Scatter symbol can only appear during the bonus games, so it’s not a part of the standard game. Three or more Scatters form a winning combination, with 5 scatters offering a payout of 10x.

Besides the instant prize, scatters provide additional free spins. Landing 2, 3, 4, or 5 Scatters during any bonus game will award you with 5, 8, 15, and 20 more free spins. So, for example, if you hit 5 Scatters with 2 free spins left of the bonus game, you’ll receive 20 free spins on top.

Game Specs: RTP & Volatility

The default RTP of 3 Pot Buffalo is 92%, but it’s variable, which means that the operator of the sweepstakes casino can set the RTP configuration higher. More often than not, TaDa Games have an RTP of around 96%, so I expect this to be the case with 3 Pot Buffalo as well.

The volatility is medium to high, with a hit rate of 24.06%, which means that wins, on average, occur once every four spins. But, with so much happening in the game and the frequent low-value wins, it sure feels like the hit rate is more than this.

200 Spins Test of 3 Pot Buffalo

I started my 3 Pot Buffalo slot game test with 2,000 coins in my balance, and the wager size was automatically set at 5 coins per spin. So, I started spinning the reels, but after around 20 spins and some small wins, I wanted to up the ante. I set the wager size to 100, and things started getting interesting.

I got lucky and hit a winning combination many times, but it was mostly small wins that didn’t even cover my wager. And I was here for the bonus features anyway, so I grew impatient and decided to buy a feature. There are three options: buy 1 random feature for 50x the wager, 2 random features for 100x the wager, or all three features at the same time for 150x the wager.

3 Pot Buffalo Play Feature

I had to lower the bet size to be able to afford one of the features, so I went with a wager of 3 coins and I activated all three features for 450 coins. I was awarded 8 free spins, and the new grid popped up at the top due to the Double Up feature. With all three features being active at the same time, I won something on every spin. And when I thought my free spins were running out, I got lucky and 2 Scatters hit the reels. I was awarded 5 additional free spins.

It was all going great, especially the combination of the Cowboy and Double Up features. Whenever the Cowboy Wild appeared on the reels, he lassoed all the buffalos on all rows – including the bonus rows. Then, another combination of Scatters hit, and I got 8 more free spins. The spins continued running automatically, so all that was left for me to do was watch the action and enjoy seeing the Big Win and Mega Win signs.

3 Pot Buffalo Win

When the last of my free spins wrapped up, the game counted up my total bonus winnings – 941 coins. Not bad at all. Considering I’d spent 450 coins to trigger all the features, I made over double the amount, and I walked away from my 200 test spins with a final balance of over 2,600 coins. A solid return.

And I have to say – whoever composed the music deserves a nod. The Ennio Morricone-style soundtrack is excellent, and 3 Pot Buffalo is one of the few slots where I haven’t turned off the background music immediately after starting it.

Our Experts Verdict and Ratings

Despite being new, 3 Pot Buffalo doesn’t really feel new in terms of graphics and animations. The overall UI feels simplistic and, dare I say it, outdated, but there’s more to the story.

The music is great and the gameplay feels dynamic. The base game won’t impress you much, but it’s all about the bonus features. You collect coins and as the pots fill up, you start to anticipate the bonus rounds. And when one of the bonus features finally activates, it will make up for the dullness of the base game. Overall, 3 Pot Buffalo feels like the most popular land-based slot machines we’ve grown accustomed to and loved over the last few years.

The three pots keep the game interesting, and the option to buy features adds more control if you can’t wait for the features to activate during standard gameplay. The RTP is within the industry standards, but the volatility is a bit odd. While low-value wins occur very often, you should expect long dry spells between bonuses, and while the max win of 10,000x is more than respectable, the bigger payouts tend to show up less often than you might hope.

Bonus Features100%The TriLuck bonus feature mechanic offers a nice sense of unpredictability. Bonus rounds can pay well, especially with multipliers, but don’t expect to hit them frequently without buying in.
