Sweepstakes casino, BettySweeps is closing after only a year in operation.

Members recently received an email informing them of the sad news:
“We regret to inform you that Betty Sweeps will be permanently discontinuing operations effective January 23, 2026.
As a result of this change, purchases and daily streaks are no longer available starting today.
We encourage you to play through your existing balance and redeem any available Sweeps Coins by January 22, 2026. Any balances not redeemed by this deadline will be forfeited in accordance with point 2.4 of our Terms of Use”
The email went on to reassure players that the customer support team will be able to assist with any concerns and questions related to the closure up to January 30. Live chat support will be available – although hours are limited – along with email assistance via support@bettysweeps.com.
BettySweeps Launched Only a Year Ago
BettySweeps launched a year ago in January 2025 under the ownership of Edgar Thomson Gameworks Inc. It ran alongside a broader portfolio of online gaming products under the ‘Betty’ brand, but BettySweeps was the sole sweepstakes platform, making a withdrawal from the vertical relatively simple – at least compared to other operators with multiple brands in the space.
BettySweeps offered slots from mostly mid-sized suppliers and managed to build a small but dedicated following. It functioned mainly via a Gold Coin/Sweeps Coin system, but also added in a third currency called Gems.
Anti-Sweeps Legislation and Enforcement is Still Brewing
However, as a smaller new casino site, BettySweeps was likely especially impacted by the wave of anti-sweeps legislation that began to build last year, forcing withdrawals from lucrative states like California and New York. The same appears to be true with ToraTora, which announced a similar exit plan.
In fact, BettySweeps was one of only a few sweeps casinos issued with cease-and-desist letters in August by the Arizona Department of Gaming. This body was one of a group of state regulators targeting sweeps sites in 2025, labelling platforms as unregulated operators and recommending an exit from their jurisdiction.
With more legislation and regulatory enforcement expected in 2026, BettySweeps likely decided the vertical was no longer profitable, and we may see more withdrawals from smaller operators as the sweepstakes market contracts.
Players at BettySweeps should follow the instructions in the email mentioned above and redeem any Sweeps Coin balances as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
