Mega Bonanza Goes 21+, B2 Sweeps Casinos To Join Industry Shift

Another day, another bunch of sweepstakes casinos upping their minimum age requirement from 18 to 21, and this time it’s the B2 gang. Or at least one of them so far.

That’s right, Mega Bonanza recently announced to players that, as of July 17, the platform will only be accessible to players who are 21 and over. If you’re already over 21, which will be the vast majority of current players, there’s nothing to worry about – you’ll simply need to accept the new ToS when they pop up. But if you’re between 18 and 21 currently, you should pay attention.

Yes, if you’re signed up at Mega Bonanza and under 21, from June 25, you’ll be unable to purchase any more coin bundles, and from July 2, it seems you’ll be unable to play at all, in either GC or SC mode.

What will happen to your account after July 2 is still a little unclear, but as soon as we find out more details, we’ll be sure to pass them on. The headline is: make sure to submit any redemption requests as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Then, we very much expect this rule to extend to the rest of the B2 Services family, so that means the following casinos should all switch to 21+ too:

Industry-Wide Shift from 18 to 21 Minimum Age

The B2 family is one of the last big sweeps groups to implement the age change, and it joins VGW, A1 Development, Stake.us, High 5, Kickr, and Pulsz with the new 21+ age requirement.

This move is gradually working its way across the sweeps industry, and it’s likely aimed at improving the industry’s stance on responsible gaming, getting ahead of any underage gambling concerns.

With some attorney generals and state lawmakers pushing for anti-sweeps legislation, this could be seen as an attempt from the casinos to show good faith; a signal that the sweeps world is open to playing ball, which should improve any chances of a regulated market in the future.

With more and more states lining up anti-sweepstakes bills, the industry must do all it can to protect its players and prove that any accusations centring around a lack of responsible gaming features are unfounded.

Stay tuned for more news as we get it.
