ProphetX Review

ProphetX is a National Sports Prediction Exchange based on the sweepstakes model. Owned by ProphetX OpCo LLC, ProphetX was launched in September 2024 as the revamped version of Prophet Exchange, introduced in August 2022 as the first regulated sports betting exchange.

What makes ProphetX stand out is transparency. The sportsbook operates as a betting exchange, meaning that users wager against each other and not against the app. This secures better odds, even with the 3% Payout Adjustment.

ProphetX operates using in-house currencies called the Prophet Points and Prophet Cash. No standard no deposit bonus is available, but the Refer-a-Friend promo grants 10 Prophet Cash per referral and you can get 2% back up to 300 in Prophet Cash on all matched cash bets for the first month after you sign up.

Legal States

The ProphetX betting exchange is available in 39 US states, meaning that 11 regions are restricted. As per the site’s Terms & Conditions, the excluded states are Alabama, Colorado, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, Ohio, Tennessee, and Washington.

Also, according to the official T&Cs, all players must be at least 19 years old to make picks on ProphetX.

How ProphetX Works

ProphetX operates using the sweepstakes betting model with in-house currency and no real money purchases required.

The platform offers two currencies: Prophet Points and Prophet Cash. Prophet Points are available free of charge with daily refills, while Prophet Cash can be used to redeem USD prizes.

The primary purpose of the platform is entertainment, which is why ProphetX offers to refill your Prophet Points if they run out. Additional purchases are available within the app, where every $1 spent grants 1 Prophet Cash and 1,000 Prophet Points.

The sign-up process on the app and through the desktop version requires a valid email address, your physical address and other personal info. You must also provide a US cell phone number that needs to be verified as part of the sign-up process.

ProphetX Bonuses

ProphetX does not have a standard welcome bonus in a form of a no deposit deal. However, there’s a 1-month long promo that is activated as soon as you register, and you get 2% back up to 300 Prophet Cash on all matched cash bets.

There is no mention of the first purchase promo anywhere on the site or in the T&Cs and on top of all that, the team has verified in the official Discord server that “no no deposit deal” is available.

The site does offer a mail-in bonus and a referral promo, though. The mail-in deal grants you 2 Prophet Cash, while every valid referral will net you 10 PC, with a limit of 2,500 PC per player.

The mail-in bonus works the usual way. You need to visit the AMOE page and complete the form first. Then, submit your entry via email to ProphetX AMOE, 3030 LBJ Freeway, Suite 300, Dallas, Texas 75234, and you will receive 2 Prophet Cash.

Note that one request per post card limit applies and that you can only send one mail-in request per sweepstakes period.

Once again, standard terms apply to referrals. To join ProphetX, you need to send your unique referral code or link to a friend who meets the criteria: they must be 19 or older and reside in one of the supported states.

Then, if your referral buddy meets the minimum play requirement of 50 Prophet Cash within 14 days of signing up, you will receive 10 Prophet Cash free of charge. The standard 1x play through requirement applies but there are no minimum odds connected to the deal.

The payment options at ProphetX are simple, yet effective. Again, this platform is the successor of the Prophet Exchange, which was the first regulated betting exchange in the US, ever. And as such, it makes sense that the site sticks to safe and 100% legit banking methods.

Specifically, ProphetX works with PayNearMe and Trustly. Thanks to PayNearMe, you can fund your account using cards or your bank account.

You can deposit as little as $1.99, while the maximum purchase sits at $5,000 per transaction. The maximum payout time is 5 business days but you can expect the redemption to go through within 48 hours in most cases.

Payment Options Review

First things first, no purchases are needed at ProphetX. This is a free-to-use platform, you can wager for free using Prophet Points, the social aspect comes first.

If you want to purchase Prophet Cash that can be redeemed for USD, you just have to enter the Shop section in the upper menu, set your payment preference, and hit that Purchase button.

Various in-app purchases are also available but the essence is that your USD deposits are matched 1:1 for Prophet Cash, and you also get 1,000 Prophet Points for every $1 purchased.

Is ProphetX Legit?

Yes, ProphetX is legit. I already mentioned this, but we are looking at the successor of the Prophet Exchange, which was the first US regulated sports betting exchange launched in 2022.

ProphetsX launched in 2024. It was co-founded by Dean Sisun, who is also the company’s CEO. Dean is active on social media and has done interviews and podcast appearances, which only adds credibility to the platform.

The fact that ProphetX apps are available both via the Play Store and the App Store further speaks of the site’s legitimacy. When dealing with gray-area or straight-up shady casinos, they usually don’t meet the criteria for offering their products through the two app marketplaces.

The first thing SweepsKings noticed is that ProphetX has a pretty in-depth Help Center. It offers a lot of info but it’s still neatly organized and easy to search through.

Apart from that, you can contact the support team via email. There are two addresses I found on the site – help@betprophet.co, which is for general support, and hello@betprophet.co, which is listed on the Responsible Social Gambling page.

The Help Center allows you to give the guys a call via Skype, and the Play Store lists +1 914-906-5720 as a contact number, although it’s not present on the site.

Also, the Help bubble in the lower-right corner only works for sending messages and checking the Help Center. It’s convenient but there is no live chat functionality here. And do note that the support hours are from 10 AM to 10 PM EST.

I have to say that ProphetX really covers everything here. It has dedicated Android and iOS apps, available for all mobile devices through the Play Store and the Apple App Store.

And on top of that, you can also access the platform using your desktop or laptop computer. When testing the social betting exchange, I noticed no significant differences or limitations for any of the supported platforms.

ProphetX looks and performs like a platform for some of the biggest names in the traditional online betting industry – and that’s quite a compliment on my end.

How It Stacks Up

ProphetX is a high-quality sweepstakes betting exchange that offers better odds than most competitors, and way better odds than traditional sportsbooks.

In addition to the custom odds requests, the site’s premium mobile optimization and dedicated iOS and Android app set it apart from competitors like Novig and Thrillzz.

Still, the number of sports is mainly focused on major US leagues, so ProphetX can’t really compete with the massive traditional sportsbooks in that regard. Then again, those sportsbooks don’t allow you to order odds or enjoy the many benefits of a social betting exchange.

Our Experts Verdict

ProphetX delivers high quality right out of the gate. The site has highly competitive odds despite the Payout Adjustment. In many ways, the ability to request odds and the overall betting exchange approach might revolutionize the industry as we know it.

The team behind this platform has a proven track record with the Prophet Exchange dating back to 2022, and I’m happy to see them move in the right direction – the sweepstakes model was the perfect addition to the product they previously offered.

The lack of a first purchase deal is a bit of a turn-off for some, but really, when you consider the quality of odds, you start caring less about a little bonus.

The market coverage is pretty good for a social betting platform but we’re still hoping to see more in the future.
