Massive Studios is a software provider to watch for when searching for a new game to play. It’s been on the SweepsKings team’s radar for years, largely thanks to their innovative Massive Max Win feature, so I went on to test the studio’s fast-growing portfolio.

My first encounter with this provider was during a regular gaming session at Stake.us. I noticed a few fresh names, such as Evil Eddie, Creative City, Cloud Frog, and, several scrolls below, Massive Studios. The icons looked well-designed, and I loved the diversity of themes they touched on, so I began my exploration with Dr. Funkenstein.
I wasn’t immediately captivated by the gameplay, to be honest. It took a few hundred spins on several games to truly appreciate the features of each game, see the high-volatility threads that connect them, and understand what Massive Max Win truly meant. A deeper dive into the catalog revealed that Massive Studios is solely focused on online slots.
Having liked the studio enough to continue my tests, I did some research into the company and discovered that they’ve been active since 2022. The company is based in Melbourne, Australia, and according to the official website, they boast over six decades of industry experience among their members.
Are Massive Studios Slots Available at US Online Casinos?
- Instant crypto redemptions
- Highest no deposit bonus
- Live dealer and Original games
Despite its several years of operation, Massive Studios’ games aren’t exactly widespread. So far, the only sweepstakes casino that offers its games is Stake.us. More specifically, Stake.us onboarded the entire Massive Studios portfolio. You can play all 25+ slots this producer has made.
Still, I’ve seen a surge in streams of Massive games, so it’s only a matter of time before other sites pick up on this trend.
What Are The Best Slots by Massive Studios?
Massive Studios has a game for almost every taste in terms of visuals, but lacks progressive jackpots, Megaways, and Hold & Win games. They’re all essentially video slots with varying payline setups. I’d like to talk about five games that stood out to me the most.
BattleSheeps
BattleSheeps
BattleSheeps was the second Massive Studios game I played, and the first that truly amazed me. At its core, this is a simple 5-reel slot. But watch out for the fireworks because each Wild symbol may erupt and cover its entire lane, increasing its multiplier as it goes.
You’ll see a Sheep Soldier in the background, but it’s more than just an animated gimmick. The Soldier will randomly throw grenades at Wild symbols, causing the rockets to expand.
Sheep Generals are scatters; whenever 3 or more convene, they’ll hold an army council and reward you with free spins, up to 20. Their uncanny commanding abilities will also instruct Wild rockets to stay in place for as long as you have any free spins left.
Enhancers are Ante Bet options that increase the chance of triggering the bonus game. The first option increases your spin cost to 2x, but multiplies the hit rate by 4. The second option makes your wagers cost 7.5x, but if a bonus is triggered, you’ll be given “Enhanced Entry” (at least 15 spins).
Maximus Multiplus
Maximus Multiplus
Maximus Multiplus takes place in a 5×5 arena, which appears to be set in Ancient Rome. Instead of a barbaric duel to the death, the gladiators are fighting to collect wild multipliers and cash prizes.
Smiling Suns are the collectors, while gold bars represent cash prize multipliers. There are also blue orbs, also known as the win multipliers.
The “Pay Any” win mechanism perfectly captures the “anything goes” vibe of colosseum fights. Should the gladiators win the Imperator’s favor by collecting scattered Aquilla symbols, they’ll be generously rewarded with free spins.
The bonus round is the same as in BattleSheeps – wilds will simply become sticky, and you can either wait for 3 or more to appear in the base game, or use the bonus buy options to skip the wait (100x for 10 spins, 300x for 16 FS).
Super Wildcat
Super Wildcat
I didn’t know what to make of the Super Wildcat theme when I first launched it, but as soon as I noticed the cloak & dagger-style animal figures, my thoughts went to Robin Hood. Similar to Maximus Multiplus, Super Wildcat pays anywhere, as long as the symbols are in adjacent reels.
Once again, the bonus round gives you sticky wilds, but this time around, there are three different types – Tigers, Panthers, and Fatcats. The most notable feature of Super Wildcat is the bonus bar at the top of the field. On their own, symbols included in this row can’t do anything, but if they can interact with anything on the main table, all eligible symbols activate.
Gold Mega Stepper
Gold Mega Stepper
Arguably, Gold Mega Stepper is the most volatile and unpredictable game in Massive Studios’ catalog, but it’s also the most beginner-friendly one.
There are only three types of symbols in this game: Cash Prizes, Duds, and Collectors. The blue diamond-like shapes are Duds, and they don’t serve any purpose. Yellow symbols carry prize multipliers, which you’ll need Emerald-plated Collectors for to activate them.
On any given spin, Collectors may collect the prizes and give you an instant win, or they may shift the reels 2 through 4 one step down, possibly revealing additional prizes. The paytable refers to this as the Stepper mechanic.
Even in this simple game, there are four bonus buy options. Buying the bonus essentially guarantees that you’ll hit a Collector and at least one Cash Prize symbol, after which the reels will keep descending for as long as there’s at least one prize left on the main grid. Using the pricier Bonus Buy improves the hit rate of stronger multipliers, while Ante Bet choices improve the chance of activating the Stepper mechanic.
License to Squirrel
License to Squirrel
This game has been my favorite throughout my tests, purely because its bonus round has a tremendous win potential. Before the game starts, you’ll be asked to choose your preferred volatility setting (High or Very High), but it can be changed before any spin mid-game.
This choice has another gameplay impact – it determines whose side you’re on during Dog vs. Squirrel Duels.
The main bonus feature is the Expanding Wild Reel, which triggers a duel between the animals (similar to VS Duel in Hacksaw’s Wanted Dead or a Wild). If your side wins, an additional effect comes into play. Dogs trigger extra Wilds, while Squirrels trigger Wilds with Multipliers.
Massive Studios Slots Assessment
| Slot | Max Win | RTP | Volatility |
|---|---|---|---|
| BattleSheeps | 30,000x | 96.63% | High |
| Maximus Multiplus | 50,000x | 96.56% | Very High |
| Super Wildcat | 50,000x | 96.53% | High |
| Gold Mega Stepper | 30,000x | 96.52% | Very High |
| License to Squirrel | 50,000x | 96.61% (Blue) / 96.72% (Red) | Very High |
Although Massive Studios’ portfolio has only 25 slots, some stand out more than others. You’ll find huge top win multipliers in most games, but the ones we highlighted above deliver the highest winning caps. They’re also packed with special features like selectable volatility, coin collectors, and wild reels.
Top Features
When it comes to special features, each Massive Studios slot is a different beast. However, after playing them all, I noticed a few similarities.
- Excellent RTPs: All games developed by this provider boast return-to-player (RTP) ratings well above 95%. Some of the best ones, such as BattleSheeps and Super Wildcat, are very close to 97%.
- A solid mix of bonus features: Depending on the game you choose, you may find Wild Reels (BattleSheeps), Coin Collectors (Gold Mega Stepper), Mystery Symbols (Hex Appeal, Bling King Camel), and many other bonus features. This variety keeps your sessions fresh, even though you’re playing games from the same provider.
- Multiple Bonus Buy/Ante Bet Options: It’s hard not to notice that Hacksaw Gaming heavily inspires this producer. All games feature at least two distinct Bonus Buy features, and just as many Bonus Bet options.
- Quality Audio and Visuals: Each game I played took me to a different universe, and although the studio has yet to establish its signature visual style, every virtual piece looks and sounds great.
Areas for Improvement
I enjoyed every minute of testing Massive Studios’ games. However, I did notice a few areas that some players may find less appealing.
- Exclusively focused on high volatility games: Even the grandmasters of high-variance slots like Nolimit City and Hacksaw have a few medium-volatility games in their portfolios. Massive Studios, however, is laser-focused on mega volatile slots.
- Very low bonus hit chance: You can outright buy the bonus to see how it works, but unless you devote a few hundred spins, you likely won’t see the Free Spins round with regular spins.
- Halved base game win caps: The signature feature of this studio is Massive Max Win – a winning cap that can reach over 50,000x. However, it’s always halved for the base game of each title.
How to Select Sweepstakes Casinos to Play Massive Studios Games
Massive Studios slots may explode in the US sweepstakes casino scene anytime now, so it won’t hurt to be prepared to hunt for legit, trustworthy sites.
At SweepsKings, we have reviewed over 100 sweepstakes casino platforms and continually test emerging sites to update our lists accordingly. If you don’t know where to begin your search, you may want to explore our reviews and compare the offers of top sweepstakes casinos online.
As an avid social casino fan, I primarily recommend sites that collaborate with well-known software providers, such as Hacksaw, Habanero, BGaming, and Playtech. These industry leaders only work with vetted, reputable operators. Their gaming catalogs typically number hundreds of games, while some of the best sites, such as Hello Millions, RealPrize, and Casino.click, also feature live dealer tables.
That being said, for now, Stake.us appears to be an exclusive partner of Massive Studios and therefore the only social casino you can try their games on.
Are Massive Studios Slots Fair?
I couldn’t find any RNG certificates or similar publications on Massive Studios’ official website, so the only thing that’s backing my argument that their slots are fair is hours upon hours of game testing.
Throughout my tests, I played demos at Massive Studios’ site but also used Gold Coins and Stake Cash at Stake.us. I wouldn’t say my experiences were the same in both cases (largely due to the extreme volatility of these games), but as my sessions progressed, I became increasingly confident that the slots deliver fair and random results.
