Duck Hunters is a scatter pays video slot developed by Nolimit City. It debuted in early 2025 and is one of the most feature-packed games I’ve tested recently.
The ultra-high top win of 30,000x, three Free Spins variants, and eight Buy Bonus options set Duck Hunters apart from your average tumbler slot. While these features look impressive on paper, they’re even better in action because you can flexibly mix purchasable spins and boosts with the occasional Extra Spin for potentially sky-high wins.
The RTP of Duck Hunters sits at 96.05%, just a bit above the industry’s average. The grid layout features 6 reels and 5 rows, while the betting range includes 25 different options between 0.20 and 100.
One of the core features of Duck Hunters is Win Multipliers, which apply to all cells where winning combos were made before each tumble. The same feature is present in Pragmatic Play’s Sugar Rush, but the scatter wins mechanic gives it a new angle in this Nolimit City release.

When I saw the showcase video, I initially thought Duck Hunters was a modern reiteration of the old NES shooter Duck Hunt with the famous laughing dog. Launching the game for the first time, I realized this slot game actually revolves around the Duck Dynasty show. The Robertson family members are even directly featured as major symbols.
That’s a major thematic twist, especially since the game has elements like booze, ducks with shotguns and cowboy hats, and modded crossbows. That is stuff you won’t find in any other slot, especially not in the duck-hunting genre.
As a scatter-pays slot, Duck Hunters pays out whenever the player lands at least 8 symbols of the same suit on the table. Wins trigger a cascade and leave a cell multiplier of x2 across all positions of the winning chain. Whenever you land a win on spots with multipliers, the original value is doubled and can reach x8,192.
The Free Spins round is where the “hunting” takes place. Depending on how many Scatters you collect, you’ll get to trigger the Duck Hunt (3 Scatters), Hawk Eye (4 Scatters), or Big Game (5 Scatters) variant.
The background music is decent, but I expected a proper country-style track. The one we got is upbeat, light, and easy to listen to, but it doesn’t add much to the game’s immersion. The bit I loved the most was the gunshot audio that follows multiplier hits.
Duck Hunters Slot Information
There are 6 reels and 5 rows in Duck Hunters, which can be populated by 9 paying symbols, Wilds, xWays symbols, Infectious xWays symbols, bombs, and scatters. You’ll need at least 8-of-a-kind to trigger a win, and all the non-paying symbols (except FS symbols) are there to help you.
For starters, launch the game and tap the Coin button to select your wager size. You’ll have 25 options to choose from between 0.20 and 100. Note that the window will close automatically once you’ve made a selection.
The most important features are located on the right side. The white “Lightning” symbol makes the reels spin faster; the “Play” symbol stands for “Autoplay” with customizable settings (10-1,000 rounds, “Stop” when single win exceeds the limit, etc.), while the rotating arrow is the “Spin” button. The Yellow Lightning symbol opens the Feature Spins menu, which we’ll talk about in a second.
The payout rates for individual symbols align with the average scatter-paying slot, with the lowest win being 0.10x for 8-9 minor symbol chains, and the highest win being 5x for 12 or more major symbol wins.

Duck Hunters Slot Features
The sheer volume of features in Duck Hunters is not surprising for a Nolimit City title. Roughly half of the in-game elements are boosters, Wilds, and Mystery Symbols available in other NLC slots like San Quentin xWays and xWays Hoarder.
Still, the developer made sure that purchasable bonuses, free spin-related features, and other core elements of Duck Hunters have a few completely original twists.
Below, we’ll cover how Wilds, morphing symbols, bombs and gas tanks, free spin rounds, and Extra Spin features work, so let’s start from the top.
Wild symbols serve as substitutes for any non-Bonus (FS) symbol. You can draw multiple Wilds per spin, and they may be rolled after cascades.
Since Duck Hunters is a pay-any slot, Wilds don’t have to be adjacent to paying symbols to form a winning chain. Each Wild will only replace one symbol, and after forming a win, they’ll apply an x2 multiplier to their cells as normal.
Each scatter win of 8+ symbols in Duck Hunters results in a “Cascade” and an x2 multiplier; meaning, a stacking multiplier of x2 will be applied to all positions of symbols that contributed to a winning combination, while the symbols disappear making room for new ones to drop into place.
That includes regular symbols, Wilds, xWays, and Infectious Ways. Also, Bombs apply multipliers, but they don’t count as wins.
These multipliers progressively increase whenever new wins are achieved over the fields with multipliers. So if you scored a win and had 8 cells with x2 multipliers, creating new winning chains over these positions will turn the multipliers into x4, then x8, and so on, up to x8,192.
The multipliers persist throughout the cascading cycle, but the table will revert to normal before your next spin.
The Duck Hunters xWays mechanic is essentially a “Mystery Symbol” feature meshed with Multipliers. Whenever you draw an xWays symbol, it will evolve into a random paying symbol and leave a random multiplier of x2, x4, or x8 in its cell, even if no wins are formed.
The Infectious xWays symbol works the same, but it will first turn into a randomly chosen regular symbol and then apply multipliers to all cells with the same symbol type. Infectious xWays symbols can only be drawn during the FS round, and only if the Wheel landed on the Infectious xWays upgrade.
Bombs remove up to 9 adjacent symbols and leave behind a Win multiplier (x2, x4, or x8) to all affected positions. The explosion hits a 3×3 grid, but it can only remove symbols up to 1 tile away from its original position (meaning a Bomb landing on the edge can only burn up to 3-4 tiles).
Bombs always trigger after all the winning combos are calculated to give you the highest multiplier possible, but they’ll explode before the cascading sequence begins.
You can enter the Free Spins round by drawing at least 3 Bonus Hunting symbols or by outright buying the bonus from the in-game shop.
Before the FS round begins, a Wheel will be spun to determine which bonus features will be upgraded for the duration of the free spins (except if you’re entering the Big Game round, where all 3 bonus features are fully upgraded):
Infectious xWays: Replaces xWays. Infectious xWays applies multipliers to all affected tiles, even if no wins are scored.
+2 Extra Shots: If this feature is not upgraded, you’ll occasionally see +1 Extra Shots in the bonus round, which grant +1 extra spin. If the wheel lands on this field, +1 Extra Shots are replaced with +2 Extra Shots (spins).
Gas Tank: Replaces Bomb. Explosions now affect cells in a 5×5 radius.
If you draw 3 Bonus Hunting symbols (scatters), you’ll enter the Duck Hunt Spins round (7 free spins and 1 upgradeable bonus feature).
With 4 Bonus Hunting symbols, you’ll receive 8 free spins, and two out of three upgrades will be randomly selected on the Wheel.
The Big Game Spins round requires you to draw 5 Bonus Hunting symbols. It awards 10 free spins, and all 3 bonus upgrades will be activated.
Regardless of the active Free Spin variant, the stacking multipliers will not revert on subsequent spins as long as the bonus round lasts. When the Wheel determines your upgrades, they’ll remain fixed for the current FS round.
The Extra Spin feature is a special feature that can be randomly triggered whenever you score a win during the base game or the Bonus Round. It allows you to pay for a re-spin with all your multipliers intact.
The best part about Extra Spins is that this feature can be re-triggered. If the cost of the Extra Spin is lower than what you won in the last round, you can keep activating it. 200 Spins Test of Duck Hunters
I’ve taken Duck Hunters for a 200-spin test with 10,000 coins as my starting bankroll and 1 coin as my starting wager size.
The first 20 spins were fairly uneventful, but I got half of my wagers back. Now sitting at 9,991.50 coins, I bumped my wager size to 5. On my 30th spin, I hit my first solid win of 64 coins and got ahead by 16 coins.
Luck wasn’t by my side when I got to the 50th spin, as my balance dropped to 9,915. I increased the wager to 10 coins and resumed playing.
By the time I got to the 100th spin, I hit half a dozen bombs, saw plenty of xWays symbols, and drew a few scatters, but I lost more than I won. Now with 9,585.25 in balance, I decided to buy the lowest-tier bonus for 700 coins, hoping it would help me at least break even.
I got decently lucky with the multipliers, but I ultimately won just 494 coins, which was less than I paid for.
I rolled my wager back to 5 coins and tried using the Lucky Draw bonus for 1,175 coins. I got the classic Duck Hunt Spins with 7 Free Spins and Infectious xWays as the upgrade. Despite some cool multipliers sitting on the table, I won only 138.50 coins.
I was back to wagering 10 coins per spin again and quickly dropped to 8,780.50 coins by the time I got to my 150th spin. For the last 50 spins, I used the Day 2 Spins feature, which meant that I was paying 28 coins per round for a table filled with 2x multipliers. Shortly after, I got another bonus with 7 Free Spins and an Extra 2 Shots as the upgraded feature, where I won 232 coins.
I got to my 180th spin with 8,657 coins and decided this would be where my “regular” test ends. For the remaining 20 spins, I tried using the Day 64 Spins high-roller feature, where each pop costs 900 coins (on a 10-coin wager).
I dropped to 5,500 coins and got pretty lucky. Not only did I win 3,936 coins from the base game, but I also managed to land 3 scatters where the starting field was filled with 3-digit multipliers.
That one lucky spin brought me 9,824 coins, which was close to my starting balance. I finished the run with 15,324 coins in my virtual pocket.

Duck Hunters is a pretty fun game, an upgrade of Sugar Rush if you ask me. You can make dozens of choices to tailor each play to your needs and budget. But after extensive testing, I realized this slot machine is far better suited for high-stakes play than casual budget sessions.
If I hadn’t used the Day 64x spins, I would’ve lost quite a bit, despite trying various strategies and wager sizes.
The sheer number of features available in Duck Hunters doesn’t make it the most beginner-friendly game out there, but the bonus buy and feature spins, coupled with a massive top win of 30,000x, promise hours of quality entertainment and potentially massive prizes.
