This game is all about its bonus features. The Super Cascades mechanic, alongside the Golden Squares, guarantees that even the base game is not standard, so I’ll now explain all the special features and symbols in Le Santa and how they work.
Le Santa
Overall Rating
90%Hacksaw made the right call here. Instead of following the usual Christmas formula with jingles and cheer that we’ve seen countless times, they came up with a more mischievous version of the holiday and let Smokey run the entire theme. It’s playful, slightly chaotic, and a lot more memorable than standard “happy Santa” slots that we see every December.
For the gameplay part, they kept the same foundation from the previous Le games, especially Le King. The cluster system, the Super Cascades and Golden Squares, and the fun bonus rounds are already a proven formula, and there was no need to replace what people enjoy. What matters is how it feels, and Le Santa feels sharp, modern and surprisingly funny at times.
Le Santa is far from a standard Christmas slot – it’s actually here to mess with the holiday spirit, and that makes it even more fun to play!

Ho, ho, ho! Guess who’s back? It’s Smokey the Raccoon, Hacksaw’s familiar character you know from slots like Le Pharaoh, Le King, and Le Viking. This time, he’s on a mission to take over Christmas.
Le Santa is the festive addition to Hacksaw Gaming’s “Le” series, and it’s being released just in time for Christmas 2025. As you probably guessed by the name already, the theme for this release is Christmas, and Smokey is in full-on Santa mode.
However, this isn’t a warm and fuzzy holiday slot. It’s Hacksaw Gaming, after all, so you know there will be some mischievous humor in it, as well as fun features like multipliers and bonus games.
Le Santa follows the same successful recipe as the other slots from the Le series: it runs on a 6×5 grid with cluster wins and cascading symbols. It has a medium volatility and an RTP of 96.14%, but as with all the other games from the Le franchise, the main focus here are the features like Golden Squares and the Super Cascades, the free spins bonus games, and the 4 jackpot boxes, with the grand prize being 1,000,000 coins (20,000x the bet size).
Hijacking Santa’s job comes with perks, and knowing Smokey’s behavior, we’re in for complete Christmas chaos. Whether you want to try it with SC for real prizes or with GC to test the game first, in the next section, I’ll walk you through what Smokey is capable of once the sugar high kicks in and he decides he’s in charge of Christmas.

About Le Santa: Game Overview
If you have played other slots from Hacksaw’s “Le” series like Le Bandit or Le Viking, the structure of Le Santa will feel familiar. The game uses the same 6×5 layout with cluster wins and cascading symbols.
The flow is the same idea as the rest of the series, and it’s clear that Hacksaw is following a simple philosophy: why change what works? Even though the visual theme here is Christmas, much of the gameplay feels almost identical to games like Le King.
Wins are formed by landing five or more matching symbols in a cluster, either horizontally or vertically anywhere on the grid, and the bigger the cluster, the better the payout.
Le Santa has an RTP of 96.14% in the standard configuration, which is in line with other games in the series. The volatility feels high, and the base game can be quiet before the modifiers come into play. The maximum win reaches 20,000 times the bet, which is higher than most Christmas-themed slots.
Le Santa Slot Information
The 6×5 grid and cluster pays mechanic means that there will be a lot of symbols on the screen at any point in the game, so my take here is to focus on the high-paying and special symbols.
All the symbols have been ‘Christmasfied’ for the Le Santa version, even the low-paying symbols that are represented by the standard card deck face cards (10, J, Q, K, A).
The high-paying symbols, expectedly, are themed around Christmas decorations and items. These symbols carry the biggest payouts, and the values change depending on how many symbols are in a winning cluster.
These are the high-paying symbols in Le Santa, from the lowest to the highest paying one:
- Stocking
- Ornament bauble
- Christmas tree
- Candy cane
- Red bell ornament
Like the other ‘Le’ games, Le Santa uses the ‘Super Cascades’ mechanic, which is activated when a winning combination occurs. All symbols that were part of it are removed, and new ones drop to fill the empty spaces.
The betting range is from 0.10 to 50 coins per spin, unless you utilize any of the special features I discuss below.
Le Santa Slot Features
Wild Symbol
The Wild symbol is the most standard feature here. It looks like Smokey the Raccoon’s polar cousin wearing a Santa hat and a scarf, and it works exactly how you’d expect. Whenever it lands, it can substitute for any regular symbol to help complete a cluster or extend one that’s already forming.
Golden Squares & Rainbow
The Super Cascades and Gold Squares mechanic is closely tied to the Rainbow symbol, and they’re all a part of Le Santa’s base game.
The Golden Squares appear around every square behind a winning symbol, but they require a Rainbow symbol anywhere on the grid to be activated. If they do activate, there are 4 types of symbols that can appear in the Golden Squares:
Coins – There are three types of coins: Bronze, Silver, and Golden. They award a cash prize, paid as a multiple of your bet (up to 500x for the highest-paying Golden coins).
Clovers – The other type of symbol that can appear is the Green or Golden Clover. They will multiply all the Coins or Santa Sacks and award a multiplier to all the Coins or Santa Sacks of up to 20x.
Santa Sacks – The Santa Sacks symbols collect the value of all Coins and other Santa Sacks and store their total value. After they have been activated, the Golden Squares will activate again to reveal new Special symbols, and the process repeats until there are no more paying symbols.
Jackpot Boxes – Another special symbol that can appear in the Golden Squares are the Jackpot Boxes. There are 4 types of boxes: MINI, MAJOR, MEGA, and MAX WIN, with values of 10x to 20,000x the bet, respectively. The Jackpot Boxes also require a Rainbow symbol to be present on the grid to activate.
Silent Heist Free Spins
The Silent Heist bonus game is activated when 3 FS symbols land anywhere on the grid. It awards 10 free spins during which Golden Squares become progressive, and they remain on the grid until they’re activated by a Rainbow symbol. Landing 2 FS symbols during the bonus game awards +2 free spins, while landing 3 FS symbols awards +4 free spins.
Sleighing It Free Spins
Landing 4 FS symbols activates the Sleighing It bonus game, and the only difference to the Silent Heist is that the Golden Squares remain on the grid until the feature ends – even after being activated by a Rainbow symbol.
Wreck The Halls Hidden Epic Bonus
The ‘ultimate’ bonus game in Le Santa is the Wreck The Halls, which is activated by landing 5 FS scatter symbols. It keeps the mechanics of the Sleighing It bonus, but guarantees 1 Rainbow symbol on every spin and guarantees that all Coins revealed behind Golden Squares will be Silver or Golden.
Bonus Buy
In Le Santa, you have the option to buy the Silent Heist and Sleighing It bonus games. The first one costs 80x the bet size and guarantees a bonus game with 3 FS symbols, while the second one costs 250x the bet size and guarantees a bonus game with 4 FS symbols.
The RTP when using the Bonus Buy features is slightly higher at 96.31% when buying Silent Heist and 96.36% when buying Sleighing It.
Game Specs: RTP & Volatility
The Le Santa base RTP is 96.14%, which sits around the industry average. If you use any of the Bonus Buy options, the RTP increases up to 96.36%. Hacksaw lists the volatility as medium, although in practice, it behaves much closer to high volatility.
200 Spins Test of Le Santa
It’s time for my favorite part of my Le Santa review: my 200 spins test. I’ve grown to be a massive fan of the Le franchise and Hacksaw games in general because they combine great graphics and animations with fun gameplay, so I expected nothing less from this holiday edition.
I set the bet size to 2 coins per spin, and I immediately turned the Turbo mode on. As much as I like the animations, they feel a bit slow in normal mode, so Turbo is the way to go.
Besides some smaller wins, nothing ‘fun’ happened during the first ~50 spins, and I was already 50 coins down. So, I set the bet level to 10 coins. Also, despite the claimed medium volatility and hit frequency of around 41%, this definitely feels like a high volatility game.
The wins are too rare, and even when they do hit, they barely cover the wager size, so Le Santa very much revolves around the special features like Super Cascades, Golden Squares, and the bonus games for bigger wins.
I finally got Golden Squares with a Rainbow symbol around the ~100th spin, and even hit a MINI jackpot. However, despite the sizable win of around ~140 coins, I was still in net loss.
I realized that the Rainbow symbol is really important to this game, maybe even too important. Despite all my smaller wins, without the Rainbow symbol on the grid, the base game can’t make up for your bet size, so you end up losing coins.
In a typical high-volatility slot fashion, I finally got lucky and got 3 FS symbols on spin ~150, which activated the Silent Heist bonus game.
I won 696 coins during the bonus game, which put me at 4,950 coins, slightly behind my starting balance of 5,000 coins.
To test how the Bonus Buy feature works, I went on to buy the Sleighing It feature for 2,500 coins (250x times my bet size).
This feature combines the Silent Heist bonus game, but all the Golden Squares remain until they’re activated by a Rainbow. I even got extra +2 free spins at one point, and while it’s hard to monitor exactly what’s happening, the final result was a win of 2,685 coins, or 185 more coins than what the feature cost me.
So, I completed my 200 spins Le Santa test with around 130 coins in net profit – not too bad considering how unlucky I was during the first 150 free spins.
