There have been some shake-ups at Heuston Gaming. Monaghan left the company in 2024 and was replaced by Ilze Jansone, who is the former CEO of betBonanza and managing director of William Hill.

Heuston Gaming also launched two new sweepstakes casinos, Cazino in 2024 and MegaFrenzy in 2025, while Sweepstastic was permanently shut down in May 2025. We reached out to the company, but it refused to reveal why the sweepstakes casino was closed.

Bright Monaghan worked as a financial markets manager and corporate development manager at Paddy Power from 2008 to 2013. After leaving Paddy Power, he said goodbye to iGaming and worked in a range of tech companies, from payments to smart pest control.

However, Monaghan’s passion for gaming never left because just a month after his company, Pest Pulse, was acquired in November 2022, the serial entrepreneur founded Heuston Gaming. From its Dublin headquarters, Heuston Gaming got to work on launching its first sweepstakes casino, which went live in June 2023.

Heuston Gaming is trustworthy. The company is registered in three jurisdictions: the US (no. 20249193), Ireland (no. 733653), and Malta (no. 3414-9699-2858-4484). The founder of the company, Brian Monaghan, is public-facing and has successfully started and exited other companies, including Pest Pulse.

Heuston Gaming is also led by Ilze Jansone, who has decades of experience in gaming. Amazingly, she’s worked her way up from being a casino dealer to holding senior executive roles at Betsson Group, William Hill, and betBonanza.

It was slightly concerning that Sweepstastic decided to shut down. However, Heuston Gaming did the right thing by giving players plenty of notice of the closure and allowing all players to redeem Sweeps Coins. Other shady operators have closed overnight and not honored redemptions.

Heuston Gaming Scandals, Lawsuits, and Controversies

Heuston Gaming appears to have dodged the never-ending lawsuits that some of the bigger sweepstakes casino operators find themselves embroiled in. So far, it has flown under the radar.

Brian Monaghan, the founder of Heuston Gaming, departed from the company in mid-2024. There has been no press release as to why he left, but he is still listed as the owner.

Monaghan’s expertise lies more in marketing and growth hacking rather than social gaming. So, Heuston Gaming bringing in Ilze Jansone, an experienced iGaming executive, as the new CEO is more about taking the company’s sweepstakes casinos to the next level rather than a scandal.
