iCasino to Close on October 9: What Players Need to Know

iCasino – the sister site to Crown Coins – has decided to wind down its operations.

In a message last week, the iCasino team announced:

“After careful thought, we wanted to let you know that iCasino will be closing its doors soon. This change allows us to focus on new projects and new exciting things…From all of us here, thank you for being part of this journey. Your support and enthusiasm have truly meant the world to us!”

For registered players, here’s the timeline you should be paying attention to:

  • Coin purchases no longer include free SC bonuses.
  • You can continue playing your favorite games and submit redemption requests until October 8.
  • Then, on October 9 iCasino will officially close.

Essentially you have a week to settle up, so we urge you to process any SC redemption requests as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

iCasino Showed Early Promise Before Closure

The iCasino sweeps platform launched in October 2024 and soon received a positive review here at SweepsKings.

The operating company is Sunflower Limited, which also runs Crown Coins, so developer partnerships with the likes of Relax Gaming, Hacksaw Gaming, and Slotmill showed early promise. iCasino also offered a variety of convenient banking options.

However, the welcome bonus was just average at 100,000 iC Coins and 2 Sweeps Coins, and the games never branched out beyond slots. Ultimately, the platform failed to achieve anything like the popularity of Crown Coins, so we’re not too surprised that the decision has been made to close after a year.

With dozens of new social casinos launching in 2025 alone, the competition for players has become fierce. Many operators run on the same third-party game providers, so unless a platform offers a standout promotion or community, it can be difficult to build loyalty.

In that sense, iCasino’s failure to gain traction reflects the challenges of the wider market rather than a lack of effort. On the other hand, Sunflower didn’t really try to promote iCasino much either, probably because of its casino-related brand name.

Next Steps for iCasino Players

If you enjoyed iCasino, the natural choice might be to move across to its sister site Crown Coins. That casino is going nowhere, with recent marketing activities like the sponsorship of Terence Crawford in his successful bout for the undisputed super-middleweight title last month.

We’re also intrigued by the hint at “new projects” in iCasino’s closing message.

However, there are hundreds of other options available to you, so there may well be another social casino that’s more suited to you and your tastes.
